Anybody has any extreme opinions about this game?

extreme? no, it was a very good game with some design flaws, i would like to see dragon's dogma 2 with these flaws fixed.
Amazing combat.
Great world design.
Good progression system
Mediocre quests, storyline and characters, though, i did like the methaphysical aspects of the Arisen fighting his predecessor to become God, restore balance and fight the next one
Horrible backtracking
Pawns wouldn't SHUT THE **** UP!!! Pawn system was ok IMO.
All in all, good game, but didn't fully grab me in the story/lore department.
Great core gameplay mechanics... absolutely terrible everything else. World, enemy variety (you will see 90% of enemies you will ever see within 1 hour of play), story, quests... abysmal. The Dark Arisen expansion pack fixes the enemy variety at least and honestly, that one dungeon area is more interesting and more varied than the entirety of the default game world.
My extreme opinion was that it was one of the best RPGs of the 7th gen. Its only flaw was the exclusivity to PS3 and 360; the game suffered from severe technical limitations. A PC port would have made the game perfect.

I'm surprised Capcom hasn't ported it. Maybe the sales on consoles where too low, and pc wouldn't be worth it. They tend to ported most multiplats to pc nowadays
it had some good ideas but the UI was garbage, the graphics sucked and I got bored of the gameplay after a while because I couldn't build the character I wanted.
The UI is pretty good and a lot better than Skyrim's. The graphics aren't very detailed and the pop-in is some of the worst I've seen in a console game, but the scale of environments, lighting, and enemy animations were excellent. Building a character is also really flexible; you just play the vocation you want and your stats automatically scale as you level it.
Fantastic gameplay... God awfull design decisions.
The absolute worst of which was the Progression System, Leveling Up Vocation was good but Leveling Up The Character was just terribal, I expected a whole lot more from Mr. Itsuno.... and then theres a few other things like the map only seeming big because you character moves so slow, why aren't there any horses or spaceships ?
One of the most unique and great RPGs of last gen. Decent graphics for the scale of the world, very good combat and variety in class and abilities, amazing monster design. They took a chance and while some things didn't work, these can be easily fixed in a sequel. The first game in a new franchise is rarely perfect.
I wonder how much they are going to adapt to Deep Down. They already got rid of the Pawn system and added 4 player co op, which is a big first step.

Not sure what Skyrim has to do with Dragon's Dogma. The graphics were garbage and so were the character designs. The enemy designs are the only good looking parts of that game. No, you can't build the character you want because skills are locked into certain weapons which are locked into different types of vocations. In my RPGs I liked to use a sword and bow and I can't do that in Dragon's Dogma unless I pick in assassin which was a boring class to play. The archery also sucked major ass other than the magic archer.
@mems_1224
I think this was further worsened by the fact that you could only change Vocations is Grand Soren.
I like The Magic Archer and Mystical Knight. But I don't like most of the Magic in the game... Its too Abstract.
Yea, I liked the magic archer a lot but sometimes I want to do some melee and I hated using daggers. Plus using just a sword as an assassin was pointless because you can't dodge unless you use daggers and you can't block unless you use a shield. I also really hated the camera.

The point is you're able to freely switch between vocations. You aren't tied down to one forever, and your stats scale based on which you play more. And Assassin is one of the most fun vocations to play lol, they literally combine everything Fighters and Striders have and have the most weapon choices of any vocation, so if you wanted you could have gone sword and bow. This is also the first time I've heard someone call the archery in Dragon's Dogma bad; it's honestly the best I've seen in a game of this genre.

You aren't able to freely switch vocations because you always have to go to the capital to do it. The non magic archery in that game is fucking garbage. If anyone thought it was actually good their opinions on games are forever void. Thats like saying the archery in Dark Souls is good. Like, have you ever played a game with a fun bow?

LOL... Dragon's Actually has a Flame Shield... I think its called the Scorched Pelta... :D
and yeah... The Dragon's Are just fine, only problem is some scenarios renders your Vocation Useless, especially the Mage, Sorcerer, Warrior and Fighter. They just aren't equiped to every eventuallity and the pawns aren't particularly usefull....
The game had some good ideas but overall the game was a big letdown, and was way too short. Kind of the same disappointment I had with games like Fable and Rage, just ended when you thought it was just starting to get good.

killed that dragon the first time I fought it, with a ranger. Epic battle though, lasted for an hour for sure.
I played it because I liked the spells. Plot, characters etc were an insomniacs dream. A year later if I played it again, I would play it for the spells. I liked the spells.
Good gameplay and controls but horrible story, characters and dialogue.
I'd rather play this than Skyrim any day though. At least it gas good gamplay/combat. Skyrim has bad gameplay AND shitty character/writing/dialogs/... Yet it's held in such high regard for some reason, I'll never understand.
@bussinrounds: I don't get it either. I really loved Morrowind, one of the best games ever made but Skyrim does anyone truly give a damn about the game itself (which is pants) or do they all just run around freeform style loving the fact they can you know... 'do stuff'?
Mindboggling. Even Oblivion was better and that had 'shitty character/writing/dialogs' as well.
