[QUOTE="ghoulsandghost"][QUOTE="Puckhog04"][QUOTE="ghoulsandghost"][QUOTE="Puckhog04"] Uh, ok. Say what you want...first thing that came to mind when i looked atUncharted was Gears of War. It's virtually identical. Mass Effect allows you to lean on a wall, not to mention it's an RPG, not a shooter. Completely different. Some of the movements in the game are identical to Gears of War almost to the point where it looks like the same movement between the games.
Don't get me wrong, Uncharted looks good. But you can obviously see the developers got a little ideas from Gears of War. It's not a bad thing to look at another game and try to incorporate something from it into your game though. People blow it way out of proportion.

i almost died laughing when i read that part. oh just because you can cast spells, select what you want to say x outs the shooter part of mass effect? oh yah ok. so is mass effect a copy of graw 2 then? You're reaching. Keep trying.
1 game is a pure shooter and one is an RPG. Compare them all you want. Sure, Mass Effect has a slight shooter element to it. But what shooter has a menu that you pop up before most interactions and allows you to decide whether to hit a move/spell or just to play defensive? oh yea, none. Your comparisons are a joke. By all means, "die" laughing as much as you want. Doesn't change the fact that you're wrong.
but you cant deny, that mass effect is a shooter /rpg. you cant call masseffect strictly rpg when it hasshooter element to it. so by your logic, ratchet and clank is a rpg game? because you can pause the game to pick out which weapon to use, is that rpg to you? to me it still a platformerMass Effect is an RPG/shooter. Not the other way around. The gameplay having to deal with the RPG elements alone prove this.Never did i call it a pure RPG. Trouble reading? I stated that it had shooter elements to it. Does that change the fact that most of the gameplay revolves around RPGish type of choices? Nope.
You'd of been better off trying to pass Ratchet off as a shooter (since you run around shooting things) in your comparison.Going into a menu and changing guns doesn't classify as an RPG element. Ratchet would be more of a Platformer/shooter.Heh, one of the Ratchet games even had online play where you do nothing but shoot each other (shooter style).
Hey, this post is really, really off topic. If you want to argue about whether or not mass effect is a shooter or an rpg (it's both a tactical shooter and an rpg), do it over pm or something or in a different topic, i don't know.
As for Uncharted being a Gears clone, it definitely isn't. The only real similarity between the two is the use of a cover mechanic, which isn't saying much. This game is half platformer, in case you forgot. The only thing this game is like is an indiana jones movie.
This game looks obscenely great visually, and its platformer elements look top notch. its shooting looks decent but not great so far but with two months to polish the title, i expect some improvement. Arguing that this game is a 'ripoff' is just wrong. 'hey look, this guy is hiding behind a pillar so he won't get shot!' oh man, obviously just like gears, or maybe just like real life.
