Hurray, another pointless FreedomFromFacts versus topic.
F with the sims already. Needs more Road Rash.
I want another Cruis'n' World.

Well I liked USA better but I agree with your point, which is also what I'm saying btw. There's just not CHARACTER anymore in sooooooooo many games. NOTHING played like Cruisin' and NOTHING played like Road Rash. I know there are slight variances in these sim type games but the general idea is the same. The sad part is there will be over FIVE Forza games this gen most likely.
Also needs more Super Off Road.
DriveClubz looks good but I noticed the game doesn't even have dust that kicks up when up put a tire off the road. Lame.
I guess too much effort went into the trees.
FH2 will get my buy. It looks great and has a ton of features. Plus it has dust. Bawahahaha.
Since I can't use my G27 wheel on PS4, I'm pretty stoked for Project Cars on PC. Visually it trumps them all. But I may get DC too if I could manage to hold back the tears and frustration of playing a racer on a gamepad like I did with Rad Racer back in the day **shutters**. Graphic wise DC looks like they just lowered the saturation to negative levels, added some soapy haze to cover it all and blurred the objects.
Forza has 1 map? You do realize how big that map is how far it stretches. The weather that you mentioned for DC is in Forza, but in Forza you have an actual working atmosphere instead of having to pick your weather before you race. DC looks amazing but from what I have seen that's all it does, the cars have horrible physics and you pretty much have to put up with people bumping into the whole race with no consequence. Forza's has not only a working atmosphere, but 200+ cars, open world that can contain more than 55 tracks, and 100+ hours for full completion. Forza's one map is huge France and Italy from the Alps to the Mediterranean, no doubt DC looks better but Forza is the more technically advanced game and will have waaaaaay more playtime than DC.
Not bullshots. Look gifs, its all INGAME, totally gameplay.
Just saying these images you posted are bullshots. The gifs do look amazing though. But FH2 has more cars and content. Isn't that what matters in a racing game?
Driveclub is very realistic, has more content. More cars does not make game better when it has no damage system and only 1 map that is totally same meanwhile Driveclub has real time cloud sky, weather, different maps, different cars and it´s always so different.
dc destroys pcars visually. its not a coincidence that every pcars shot people post is a closeup of the car with everything else blurred out by DOF
PCars rain isn't that good.
But it's environments are still better than any racing game before it bar DC.
The grass are flat panels tho. Looks unnatrual.
thats among the best environment shots you can post for pcars and it still absolutely pales in comparison to DC. the lighting/shading/material system is just bad. FH2 also looks better than pcars.
Both games look great graphics wise, but Horizon 2 will be the one I'm playing this year.
I don't have a PS4 yet, but even if I did I'd have to try Driveclub before I spent any money on it. The handling and physics are much more important to me than graphics. Horizon 2 on the other hand is a must buy based on my experiences with the other Forza games.
One thing is for sure though, racing fans are in for a treat this year.
DC certainly knocks it out the park graphically, looking at this just compounds how much better it looks.
In terms of which game will be best who knows? I don't get the comparison because they're very different types of racers doing very different things. It's a bit like comparing Madden and FIFA because they're sports games but to a lesser extent.

You must be trying to compare the old builds or you're seriously blind. The retail will have improved on the rain and environment a lot as obvious below. It's also a lot more crisper than either of the other 2. It will also have options to buy modified car packs. More accurate physics and lighting. DC has had contrast increases and dulled out colors.
You would have to be in serious denial to say the latest screenshots of the rain and environments look worse than DC. The art direction is what's different. Personally I haven't seen any actual screenshots of DC nor FH latest build pics that actually improve over PC's latest builds

have to disagree. DriveClub detail is expodentially more pronounced. And the weather can be random in DriveClub. But you also have the choice to pick the weather conditions. It's up to you. Read the link. It's rediculous.

Like I said DC looks better but Forza is the more technically advanced game, all of that stuff on the list you pointed are in Forza. DC looks better no doubt but Forza has one continuous atmosphere over one huge map, DC will not have weather until they patch it in, also Forza has better driving physics from what I've seen so far. Everything in Forza is continuous, there's a lot more going on in Forza than there is in DC.
@scottpsfan14:
Where is the hud in that DC video?
They turned the HUD off. Or are they controlling a pre rendered CGI? That's how the game looks.
It may LOOK like that. That is running on a PC dev kit.... 100%. With tools enabled.

That is photo mode. But yeah it might actually be. Is there a link for that? All I know is that the gameplay we have seen is all on PS4. But I see why you might think that is in the engine as they are using the camera and panning.
Going from gameplay to photo mode... We all know what photo mode is, see I:SS. It is zero representation of actual game play.
I'm a little skeptical. I don't trust Sony or Microsoft when it comes to on stage demonstrations.

That's what Infamous SS does. You press R3 where ever you are and you go straight to photo mode. And you move the camera just the same as what's shown there on that DriveClub video. I though you have the game? The assets are identicle in photo mode. Nothing changes apart from camera position.
I did have the game. Photo mode positioning can give a false representation of the actual look of the game with the hand picked positioning of the camera. Like the picks that are spammed in here.
Did you play the game?
@scottpsfan14:
Spam me some Gameplay. I'll download the demo to see.
B4X. The game WILL look that good.
I'm more worried about the gameplay...
I believe that. The demonstration of the two guys actually racing in the beginning of the video. The last part. Well we'll see?
