Do people not realize that the United states is in a recession? Half the people in line for the ps4 are scalpers, the other half are playstation die hards. Neither console is going to be hard to find. People Iwork with seem content with keeping their current console. Here around the Akron Ohio area, Lockheed/Martin just closed a plant with 400 jobs lost. I doubt game consoles are on their minds. All I'm saying is I doubt these launches are going to be as big as people think. Apple is really the only company that can create this hype on a consistent basis.

Yes of course there isnt much hype surrounding the PS4. The general public know that Xbox One will be the best console!

I suppose most people just order stuff online? And I assume most people who havent preordered their console are waiting for Black Friday to go all in.

I'm in that boat, I got a PS4 on Amazon this morning after the PS4 event and I plan on slapping it on Craigslist to get 50-100 bucks for it.

Yeah, I don't know how one person saying there were a couple of people at the launch means failure. From what I gather online (and have seen in person), this thing seems to be a hot item.

Still curious if it will be available anywhere today.

I'm a bit surprised. Judging by the comments on here and other gaming forums I expected the PS4 to pretty much dominate the launch window.

I went by 3 gamestops, 2 walmarts, a sears, and a best buy, to ask about getting a ps4 tonight. As expected they were out if preorders but they all had plenty of PS4s to sell to non pre order buyers. I asked about the Xbox One pre-orders and apparently the demand is higher for the X1.

I drove by the same stores a few minutes ago and the only place with ANYONE waiting in line was best buy, with less than 10 people. I saw no one at any of the three gamestops I went to even tho they were having launch events.

Not impressed at all. I expected a lot of launch excitement and fever, but no one seemed to care..

That is odd there are some 300 people already line on the gamestop close to my house, walmart 24 hours like 200,i asked yesterday on the gamestop close to my house and only 20 xbox one had been sold while more than 275 PS4 had been pre-order..

Somehow, I don't believe you.

Funny that you expect other people to believe you though on just your word. You might be right that his statement is BS since he's a fanboy but still you should be able to see the hypocrisy of it.

Not at all. I didn't want to search the internet for a eight year old article. Little different there.

Maybe people are happy to wait for the package to be delivered? how many people were waiting on their front porch?

Yep, my box is within 15 miles of my current location and slowly heading in my direction. I waited in the cold for the wii launch, and I will never do that again.

But you seem to think you remember it just fine, so it shouldn't be that hard to find right?. Still the point is that if you expect others to just take your word for it you shouldn't just blow others off at least not without sounding like a hypocrite. Why does Tormentos have a reason to lie? Oh yep because he's a fanboy. Which is the exact same reason you would have to lie. But whatever it's OT.

I think that some places are going to be full and others are not (just like will happen with the XBone). With more people ordering their's off the internet it's not surprising that some places are pretty empty even with launch events.
