i actually used to own a psp, but some jackass went through my bag in class and took it along w/ my 80$ calculator. i actually got reinbursed by the school, but i bought an ipod w/ the money only because i didnt like any of the game that were coming out and i used the psp mainly for music at the time. i am curious for metal gear portable oops but what else games are there? do you recomend me buying a psp again? or should i try out the ds?
and if i do it'll probaby be the starwars version(it it a limited edition?)
Portable Ops is cool, but as a MGS fan, I've been let down by its replay value. When I leave the house and want some portable gaming, DS is usually my weapon of choice.
I say go with the DS and get Advance Wars, Animal Crossing, New Super Mario Bros., Mario 64, Planet Puzzle League, Metroid Prime: Hunters, or Mario Kart DS. These will all give you many hours of fun. The bold ones are ones I still play frequently, although PPL is still pretty new.
seeing as how PSP would die out on you 2 hours into the trip, (oh yes, i just laid the smackdown :P), i'd highly suggest the DS. i've had it since day one november 2004 launch, and i've been happy with it ever since.
yeah decided for urself but psp does have gta vice city and liberty killzone liberation tekken dark resurrection shypon filter ratchet and clank and daxter to name someVaughaneyD
PSP dude, they're rereleasing it in September with some SWEET features. So yeah, I'd totally recommend PSP. Plus theres more varitey of games on it. On DS, all you get is a Mario this, Wario that.Deepcut9

one of the worst statements i've heard in a while. PSP games can easily be found on my PS2, it really doesn't have enough backbone to justify it's current pricepoint. time will tell, though.
I'd personally get a DS with Mario Kart, Both Castlevania's (If not, get one or the other), New Super Mario Brothers, snd Sonic Rush.

If you like RPGs and are secure in your manliness, get one of the new Pokemon RPGs as well. Or just raid the GBA's RPG library to suplement your DS games.
DS is the better portable, PSP is the better overall gaming system. Since you mentioned an 8 hour trip, then the DS seems like the better match since it's longer battery life, no-loading times, more durable hardware, and portable-friendly games make it a much better system for being on the go.
That is not to say the PSP is bad, in fact, if I could only have one system, console or portable, it would be the new PSP with the video-out, it's a great comprimise of having a portable system with fun, pick up and play portable games (i.e. Lumines, Crush, LocoRoco, etc.) as well as deeper console like games (i.e. GTA, Metal Gear Solid, Tekken, Socom, Daxter, etc.) and with video-out you can actually play it on your TV.
However, if you already have a major home console and are just looking for a portable to compliment it, then the DS is the way to go.
which games do you recommend on the ds?da62087boi
advance wars ds, metroid prime hunters, mario kart ds
Will PSP even last 8 hours before the battery runs out?iunderstand
I don't know, but I believe a DS Lite will last nine on the brightest screen setting. You gain a few hours every time you go lower on the brightness.
Isn't it obvious by now?..... Get a PSP!...... More "sweet' games like GTA, MGS, God of War, Devil May Cry, and even Oblivion! Think about it, it'd be much better than playing a repetitive old game like Mario/Wario.Deepcut9
All of your posts sound like robotic viral marketing.
Anyways, half of the games mentioned aren't even out yet.

The PSP has a handful of good games, but the DS has a lot more. You can plug headphones into a DS & WiFi is easy and free from most wireless hotspots (I've had trouble at college and in hotels though). New games for each system go for about 30-40$. A single game is hard to pick out because I don't know your tastes. You mentioned you like Nintendo's titles so some all-around solid games are Mario Kart DS, New Super Mario Bros., or Super Mario 64 DS (If you havn't played the original).

Well do you mean a story as in a stylus adventure game or an RPG? For adventure style games, Hotel Dusk & Trace Memory are supposed to be very good. Phoenix Wright & Trauma Center are also story heavy, but the gameplay is quite fun too.
If it's RPG's you want though, the DS has plenty. I'd recommend Final Fantasy III, Mario & Luigi - Partners in Time, Contact, Dragon Quest Heroes - Rocket Slime, Lunar Knights or Magical Starsign. There's plenty more on the way, and don't forget there's probably dozens you havn't tried for GBA.

I really hope you're kidding. Unless you're referencing watching a movie on full brigthness-settings on full volume without head-phones, it won't happen. If you're talking about gaming, then it skyrockets to 6-8 hours. And yes, I have gotten 8 hours out of PSP titles, a prime example being lumines II. All you have to do is put the brightness at the lowest setting (which is still very bright) and use headphones.
yeah, most the people say the DS owns. I personally love sony, but the PSP just doesn't have the games, and whoever says it does is crazy :PEcho13791
Then I and a few other million people -not to mention reviewers- must be crazy. Sometimes I wonder if people make these statements from personal experience or from what they've read here. You said you have previously owned a PSP... are you telling me you found all of these:
Syphon Filter: Dark Mirror
GTA: LCS
GTA: VCS
WipEout Pure
Loco Roco
Lumines
Daxter
Twisted Metal: Head On
Tokobot
Burnout Legends
Ridge Racer
Populocrois
SFTB
SFTB2
boring?
P.S I'm trying to pick exclusives games that came out before MGSPO, so it would help if you would say when you got it.

TC get a PSP, If you want console quality games on the Go, Get a DS if you wanna settle for mediocre games, but with a low price and great battery life
