DS vs PSP vs iPhone: Which is the handheld of YOUR choice?

I personally would go for the DS, with its innovative input methods (Phantom Hourglass and Chinatown Wars are two games that demonstrate these very well), seamless (well, more or less) online and wireless play, graphics that can be very good both technically and artistically, and most of all, a library chock full of titles that really appeal to me, and to handheld sensibilities in general.

However, I recognise that there are many who find the PSP or even the iPhone to be the hadheld of their choice, due to varying reasons. So here, let's have a discussion as to which hadheld is our preferred hadheld. Please back your choice by a reason.

So, which is the handheld of your choice then?

PSP. I've enjoyed my PSP more than the DS. I'm still using my PSP once in a while, the DS is just stored. As for the iphone, i don't have one.

DS is the greatest handheld of all-time.

PSP for me, unfortunately dont have much free time which i can spend on gaming so i only got 1 handheld... however DS has many great games and i'd surely get one if i had more time/money to spend gaming :)

My iphone is just used as a mobile phone..

PSP.. because of FFVII CC..

Having only the PSP and Iphone, Gotta go with PSP, I Phone is good for card games and a few driving games but the controls are too impresise for me.

PSP. I own all 3 but PSP is the only one I spend the most time gamimg on.

PSP, its top games just seemed of higher quality, things like FFVII: CC or GoW for example, and the upcoming Dissidia is pretty awesome too. DS has some really awesome games too, but most try to use the touchscreen in awkward ways when its better to just avoid its use all together, games like TWEWY use the touchscreen pretty well, and that was a pretty awesome game, but the touchscreen use even in that became really tedious or awkward at times.

DS for sure!!!!!!! What happened on this thread? Anyways, New Super Mario Bros. alone destroys PSPs library. In fact it is among my favourite games this entire generation! It does old school Mario EXTREMELY well! OH the many secrets to find in that game!

The reason I ask what happened on this thread is that there was a thread a few days ago asking where you place the DS as a gaming system here on System Wars and the overwhelming majority of people responded saying the DS is debateably the best sysem ever made. I wouldn't go that far, but that's what happened so I find the responses this thread is getting to be surprising.

For me :

PSP Phat > DSL > DS Phat

PSP gets more useage because of music and videos and stuff like that.

Yes, I may have exagerated a little too much, but when a game brings you back 17 years to why you started gaming in the first place, it's hard not to overreact. It is so darn well designed!

On the other hand, the DS has the worst Zelda gameI have ever played. Phantom Hourglass's touch controls were all genius as well as the puzzles they were used for, but the dungeons, Temple of the Ocean King, sailing (much worse than Wind Waker's which I enjoyed), and puny world made it quite dissapointing.

To recap: DS has the best handheld Mario (excluding remakes on GBA) and the worst handheld Zelda

The Nintendo DS in my opinion is pretty much the ideal handheld (thats why i own one). Originally I started off against the PSP (it had pretty much NO AAA games, or even high AA) but lately its been getting better and better and although it aint AS good as the DS, it certainly justifies the purchase IMO.

The iPhone is a PHONE, dont liek the 'i' fool you. It's a phone that is meant to double up as an MP3 player (or the other way, it doesnt matter), therefore how can i judge it as a gaming system in direct comparison to the nintendo DS and PSP both of which had the primary purpose of bringing us great games? well, i wont, but i gotta say for the casual it's great, the graphics the iPhone can pull off arent half bad and among the many many dull games there are a few gems and many more innovative titles to come,but still guys- just a phone (that plays games, so yeah, a gaming device:P )

DS > PSP > iPhone is to put it simply.

I think there are usually longer spells between playing my DS than there are for my PSP.

I would go with psp
