Now that ds3 is out in the states( it was available where i live longggg ago :P) People who have used both post your thoughts about which one they prefer and why

I think its a tie

360 controller advantages

1.Better fit

2.Better weight distribution

3.Best for shooters

4.Better analog stick placement and triggers

DS3 advantages

1.Better rumble

2.Better for action/sports games

3.Better non rounded/easier to press buttons

4.The best D-pad

5.Sixaxis(Only some games use it well but its good when that happens)

Note:-I would prefer if fanboys keep away and only those people post who have used both for a fair amount of time

AND THIS IS A COMPARISON OF DS3 AND 360 CONTROLLER NOT SIXAXIS AND 360 CONTROLLER EVEN I THINK SIXAXIS SUCKS

I think the 360 pretty much plays better in all genres. But that's my OPINION. I just don't like the analogue placement on the DS3. Better rumble? A bit skeptical there.

IMO the DS3 only has 1 advantage and that is the Dpad for fighting games.

3.Best for shooters
I always wondered why the analog was where it was. Thanks for the info

I'd go with DS3, I've been using Playstation controllers since PS1, plus the PS2 wasn't a shooter console so it was good but PS3, well it's still good.

Plus I like the design better but it's so light it's like holding air and when you get pissed, you'd think your just gonna throw air but then your controller starts flying

I like FPS with the 360 controller better but I don't like to change batteries - they should have done what Sony did and just used lithium-ion rechargables in all the standard controllers.

i prefer sonys controller. i could never grasp the feel of the 360 controller..the only thing i find myself liking more with 360 dpad is the weight. i also personally feel the SIXAXIS/DS3 is great for fps's.....the analog sticks are very smooth. the 360's just feels too stiff to me...its like playing a FPS on a PC with the mouse pointer settings set to slow...

As I said in a very similar thread yesterday. I like both controllers, but if I have to complain, I'd say they should make the 360 controller lighter and the sixaxis heavier. Somewhere in between would be nice. I'd probably say I prefer sixaxis when it comes down to it as I've played with dualshock controllers much longer than X-Box ones

Most games use the "sticks" now for more controlled movement - because of this I prefer the 360 controller. The PS3 controller favours the D-pad.....which is a little antiquated in todays gaming industry.

This post can't be serious. The 360 controller is superior in everyway. You have to be a total idiot to think otherwise.

I do think that sony could have revamped the controller a bit to bring it inline with current gaming standards.

I have the same issues with my PSP - the stick is in the wrong place.

The analog stick layout and the fact that the stick surface is concave makes me prefer the 360 controller. I also think that the back triggers fit my fingers better also. The 360 controller is just much more well-contoured to hands.

To be quite frank i prefer the 360, same deal as phones, i have to have something heavy in my hand for it to feel right.

The 360 control has a poor d pad imo but the analogue layout seems pretty smooth, the triggers and bumpers mix well aswell.

DualShock 3 for sure. Sony has been using pretty much the same controller for 3 generations, goes to show just how comfortable it is. The 360 controller would be a very close second, though.

i really dont like the triggers on the DS3... i always feel like my fingers are going to slip off. i also have that same feeling with the analog sticks, they are rounded and just.. blagh. if only the best features of the DS3 (dpad) and 360 controller could be mashed together.. we'd have like.. a super controller :D

I meant the triggers for the 360. I haven't tried DS3. The triggers are the only part of the 360 controller that I like.

out of the two... they both have their ups and downs. but i prefer the ds3 because i feel like i have more control in a game with it than the 360 controller. Though 360's may give a better experience with shooters, i just feel like i have no control of the gun when i use them, and the dpad and shoulder buttons(L1/R1) i personally think are inferior to the ds3's. I also prefer the buttons on the ds3 controller to the 360. Analog sticks have never seemed to be a problem for either controller for me, but for some reason i always check for sensitivity on 360 games for some reason...

Though from that post it may seem like i absolutely hate the 360 controller, the issues i have are extremely minimal and neither seem to help or hurt the experience of any game i have played.
