The Question.

I used to have an original PSP before I traded it in to purchase my PS3. I played the PSP a lot for the first year, but the lack of games kept it on the shelf thereafter.

Now I am ready to enter the mobile gaming world again and I need some expert advice. Can someone(s) give a pretty decent review of both PSP 3000 and DSi and which one you recommend? I've read several reviews, but I trust the people on here better than the random blogs I looked at.

If you recommendthe DS, should I get the DSi or DS Lite? What are the best games for DS?

Thanks.

well, the Dsi got some improvements..like the camera and the screens are slightly bigger than the Ds Lite. I played both, but well I don't care much about the camera and the bigger screens. if I were to buy one, I'd personally get the Ds Lite, cause it's a lot cheaper than the new Ds. In Italy you get a Ds Lite + Game for 99 euros ( around 140 dollars ). it's pretty a good deal, imo.

DSLite.

DSi is far, far overpriced. The DSi also forgoes the ability to play GBA games for the ability to buy mini/micro DL games. No deal.

Like the PSPGo, the DSi is overpriced. As a first Time DS owner, go DSLite, way better option.

Also, the DSi has two built in camera's...but they are .3 megapixels, lol.

if you don't own a ds and don't care about playing gba games then the dsi is definitely the way to go. if you had a psp and didn't enjoy it then i wouldn't pick it up again, unless you can name 10-20 games that you definitely want, then maybe it will be worth it. the 3000 has a better screen, but apart from that you will know what to expect having already owned one. the main thing to look at is which has the most and best games, most peole on here will say ds and will show you it's gamespot scores etc.. but really it depends if you like or think you will like them games.

Thanks for the feedback. Good information. I'm definitely set on getting a DS. I looked a little more in-depth at the game library, and it is extremely solid. I am going to get New Super Mario Bros, Mario Kart DS, and the first Professor game to start...

I don't play GBA games so the backwards compatibility is not an issue. I think I'm leaning towards a used DSi for just $20 more than a new DS. Any more opinions?
