i can't decide which handheld to get the DSi XL or the PSP GO.. the reason i cant choose is because each system has games that i want so bad!

DSi Xl has Pokemon HeartGold, Kingdom Hearts 358/2, Mario & Luigi Bowsers inside story, Shin Megami Tensai Devil Survivor, and the professor layton games.

PSP Go has Final Fantasy 7: Crisis Core, Dissidia: Final Fantasy, Pangya Fantasy Golf, Lunar Silver star harmony, Dead or alove paradise, and by far for me the most compelling game that leads me towards the PSP Go is Kingdom Hearts Birth By Sleep i just saw the trailer and i was blown away see trailer here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rqtqvrOqZKk&feature=fvw

I only wanna buy one of these systems since i feel it would be a waste of money to buy both since i dont have that much free time where i can play all the games of two handheld consoles. My time at home is spent mostly on my mac and xbox 360.. but i often have to go to the hospitol and i wanted a handheld system to bring with me... and something to play on the way to school or at airports.. i can't choose between the two systems... can anyone offer their opinion about which system i should get? Also price doesnt matter... my dads gonna buy me one of these so saying the DS is cheaper wont help me haha. I'm looking for content, features, and which one in general is just more bang for your buck, which one has more promising game and stuff like that.. so if anyone can offer me any help please do so!.. also idk if this is in the right section? sorry if its not

Neither? You are probably better making the choice of either a regular DSi or PSP 3000. Anyway in the end it is up to you. I say PSP (3000) since not only it has a good game library, but has much better online stuff.

The PSP-3000 can do everything that the PSP-GO can. Plus is cheaper and you get acces to retail games. The DSi can do anything the DSi XL can, plus is cheaper.

well tell us what type of games you like...that's usually the best way to pick any system over another, just look at what games it has to suit you

ok cool so does anyone know if Pokemon HeartGold is good? i know Pokemon games really do not change much if at all.. from game to game but i never really got to play a johto adventure and to get most of the johto pokemon i had to do all this pain in the ass stuff to get them on the other versions.. also so does this mean that the PSP 3000 really doesnt have many good rpgs and anime type graphics and stuff? because i was kinda leaning towards a PSP since the Kingdom Hearts series is by far my favorite series ever... followed by final fantasy.. not to say i dont like fps.. i LOVE modern warfare 2 and halo. But really i did like games on the PSP but the only reason i would choose one over a DSi was because of Birth by sleep.. it looked so AMAZING!

The DSi has Kingdom Hearts too. HeartGold is an awesome game. The best of the Pokemon series right now until Pokemon Black & White come out.

dont get a DSi but get a DSLite. you can play Gameboy Advance games on it. And there are a ton of great GBA games for dirt cheap. if you want DSi so bad get an XL.. the big screen does make the game look more pixalated but also helps a lot with certain games like phoenix wright or hotel dusk.

well kingdom hearts on PSP is probably a lot better then kingdom hearts on the DS.. but there are a lot of great RPGs on the DS.. dragon quest v, iv, vi, ix, final fantasy III, IV remake or final fantasy gaiden 4 warriors of light for example..

thats exactly what i was thinking.. Kingdom Hearts is indeed on the DS... but on the PSP i feel like it would be better.... but all the rpgs you named really peak my interest... and may well end my decision with the DSi coming out on top.. as for getting a normal DS lite.. while there are great gameboy advance games the graphics on them sometimes gave me a headache... idk why its kinda weird.. but id still like to hear from more PSP fans! i havent made up my mind yet :)

can't say your not right about those games.. but ive already plaued most of them on my SP... and im a fan of cool extras like the camera on the DSi and that nintendo store.. so if i did decide to get a DS it would be the DSi.. i already owned a DS lite previously but it was stolen about a year and a half ago.. so i figured it was about time for a new handheld system... and now im just reading replies trying to make up my mind :)

So is the PSP. PSP probably has better strategy (mostly Strategy RPGs) and action games while puzzle and RPGs are pretty much in the tie area IMO.

DSi XL plays DS games, so that would be best. But if you own a DS, no real reason to get it. The 3DS will be able to play all the content you lost from the DSi Ware when it comes out.

For what it's worth I have a DSi XL and its amazing. You never really notice how tiny the regular DS is until you've had an XL in your hands. The screens dont look stretched either.

Dont know if I would have payed full price for it (I had a giftcard from a friend of mine) but it is leaps and bounds better than the other options.

who gives a !@#$ when the 3ds is released. ill bet your life that it will still be TECHNICALLY inferior to the psp. more on point, the ds lite has a library of games that cannot be beat. if you are a gamer than is where you might want to go.

ok so the types of games i like are rpgs, action games, and puzzle and strategy games... also im a HUGE fan on anime and games that have anime style graphics

LukexMinka912

RPG: Chrono Trigger, The World Ends With You, Dragon Quest IV and V, the Pokemon series, Etrian Odyssey 1 & 2, Rune Factory, Final Fantasy IV, Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey as well as Devil Survivor, Disgaea DS, Lunar Knights, Mario and Luigi Partners in Time and Bowsers Inside Story, Knights in the Nightmare, and a personal favorite; Super Robot Taisen OG Saga Endless Frontier

Action: Ninja Gaiden, Zelda, three Castlevania games, Contra 4, Sonic Rush, Alice in Wonderland, New Super Mario Bros, Henry Hatsworth (really great game that's also got a HUGE puzzle aspect to it), GTA: Chinatown Wars

Puzzle: Tetris DS, Meteos, Geometry Wars, Professor Layton series, Picross, Space Invaders Extreme, Planet Puzzle League, Big Bang Mini

Strategy: Dawn of Discovery, TWO Advance Wars games, Final Fantasy Tactics, Fire Emblem, Age of Empires (felt kinda off, but I'm not a huge strategy fan, so you might like it)

And some all around great games would be the Kirby games, Hotel Dusk, Mario Kart, Might and Magic: Clash of Heroes, Bangai-O, Viva Pinata, Puzzle Quest, Wario Ware, Yoshi's Island, the Phoenix Wright series, Super Princess Peach (which I actually liked more than New SUper Mario Bros), The Legendary Starfy

You'd be doing yourself a favor by going with the DS. There are naysayers, but most people agree the DS blows the PSP out of the water. I would only suggest getting a PSP if you find a good deal. I spent $250 on mine at launch, and 5 years later I still regret it. I've played only a handful of games on it that were good. Socom was good because I played with the old Playstation Underground (official sony forums) and they were a good crowd back then, Jeanne D'Arc was ok, and Megaman Maverick Hunter X was a blast but I am a huge fan of the original. Dissidia was fun, but I'm glad I only borrowed it rather than bought it.

BTW these are all just my personal recommendations for each platform out of the games I've played for each platform. ;)

thanks for all your input :)... ive made up my mind ill be ordering a DSi later today with Pokemon HeartGold... i talked to one of my friends and hes gonna let me borrow his PSP and Birth By Sleep when it comes out.. the only reason i really wanted a PSP was because of Birth By Sleep, the other games looked good too but Birth By sleep was the driving factor leaning me towards a PSP but after alot of thought, looking into the libraries of both handhelds, and reading all of posts and help i received in making my decision im going to get a DSi
