3 Words: Original PS3 Controller
What a horrible waste of time designign this thing.

Brings back those old E3 hype days memories on SW..... good times
So much ownage..... everywhere....... sigh.....
360 is better. The sixaxis is not very comfortable, hasslippery triggers and when you sit it on the ground it rests on the triggers and sometimes pushes them when you pick it up or move it.
If the 360 controller didn't have a junk d-pad you could not even compare them because the sixaxis is so sloppily designed.
Both are good but the dualshock wins because of the awsome d-pad compared to the horrible 360 one.ajames_123
Yeah? At least I can go diagonally with mine without killing my thumb! Let us not forget the areas between the diagonals and the actual directions that the dualshock has yet to discover....
DS3 is best and fit in my hands best. the 360 pads analogs are in the wrong place and the pad weighs more than me
The 360 controller for me. My thumbs like each other, but not that much. musicalmac
I feel the same way. When I'm playing Super Stardust HD, my thumbs feel a bit too close and I always have to reposition them. But when I'm playing GeoWars 2, my thumbs feel as if they're in the perfect place and I could spend hours without my thumbs touching or feeling too close.
360 for everything but the D-Pad (out of the box)
Dual Shock 3 for the D-Pad.
My PS3 stick randomly freezes (bluetooth am inconsistent sometimes), and my characters do strange things until the BT signal fixes itself. And the PS3 stick's triggers are an embarassment to the good 'Dual Shock' namesake.
AND the damn thing doesn't turn off if it's not moved after a period of time. That thing should have had a 15-minute timeout like the 360 controller does. Just seems...incomplete.
Motion in the Sixaxis/Dual Shock is also worthless.
analog sticks on the 360 controller are arguably a bit better, but mostly because the button tops are concave, allowing for more consistent grip.

I would agree the concaved sticks was a fantastic idea. I personally love the weight of the 360 controller.
Also, DV the gif of the Nintendo conference is priceless.
360.
The triggers dont feel rushed, the analogues are better placed and overall its just more comfortable to hold. It doesnt feel as cramped. Only downfall is the Dpad, but that doesnt get a lot of use in games for me so i dont care.
REALLLLLLL hard question hmm
360 Controller has Triggers and Excellent Joysticks but fails IMO with the buttons and the REAL BAD D PAD
PS3 Controller has excellent Joysticks and Excellent buttons + D Pad but NO Triggers!
hmm Im gonna say the PS3 Contoller simply because of the Dpad for Fighting games and the Excellent Buttons.
Close one tho :)
They both have pros and cons.
360: I find that the analogs being in different places is alright in shooters, but ***** me up when I play hockey or platformers. The triggers are certainly better, springy and feel like they can take some abuse. The D-pad is an atrocity against man, the bumper buttons feel kind of lame, and the battery pack in the back gets in my way. The ergonomic design is as comfortable as the Dualshock once you play for a while.
PS3: Flimsy shoulder buttons. SIXAXIS support is usually crap but the few times its implemented well make it a bonus. D-pad is perfect for fighters and skating games. I am used to having the analogs in a symmetrical position, I never "crash my thumbs into eachother" or any of that nonsense (are people gripping the analog with their second knuckle? wtf? I have huge hands and never have a problem w/ it). Face buttons are familiar, responsive, I like them more than the 360's face buttons. Not having a battery pack or worrying about AA's is a huge plus. A full charge takes less than an hour (and you can play while charging w/ Mini USB) and lasts for about 24.
I am happy playing all games on either controller, except fighters on the 360 D-pad.

Good points, all except the grip on the analog sticks, I disagree with that part. For some reason when I play NHL 08 for example, on 360, I find my left thumb slipping off and I have to move my right thumb over and sort of correct it. It is probably good for people that place their thumbs a certain way (ie use the tip instead of the fleshy bit). The matte rubber on the DS3 makes it nice and grippy for me.
The controller freezing used to happen to me occasionally in R:FOM, but it has never happened in COD4 or any other game, come to think of it. Battlefield: BC has problems when I use my headset, it seems to conflict with the controller in that game big time. Could be why there isn't much chatter.
For FPS, the 360 without a doubt. For everything else I'll take the Dualshock.volume_three
This is how I feel about it.
meh...sony is trying to make us forget the failure that was the sixaxis.
but hey if they want to do it go right ahead
360 controller is my fav
If I could use my 360 controller on the PS3 I would probably get one already.
I mean its like a dinosaur in design, the same basic layout as the PS1.
