I guess I am in the minority here, but I certainly am not crying over one of the biggest failures ever. Yeah, the game looks like it could have been fun, but over a decade and this is all they can show after it is too late? I feel bad for 3D Realms and all, but I just do not see the point in acting like this was some sort of masterpiece. It obviously was a garbled up mess of ideas that they could never put together. They have had plenty of time and just could not deliver, it is way past time for this game to be officially declared the dead in the water vaporeware it always was. Not trying to be mean, just being realistic is all. It is what it is and some masterpiece in the making it clearly was not.

That really ticks me off that 3D realms didn't show us any of that... Till now. If only they showed us more... They could have gotten funding and finished the game years ago.

We can only hope Take 2 or some other Dev will pick this game up and actually finishes it. It looks awesome in it unfinished state.

All we know right now is that it's on hold... People are just speculating it is canned since 3D Realms is gone. If Take 2 doesn't decide what to do with this game... Then you can assume it's been scrapped.

Eh looks fun, but it doesn't look great.

Looks like it has promise.

It has the Duke attitude but considering it's been in dev for ten years I think it look like absoulte crap and I'm glad 3D Realms is shut down. I hope they never work in the business again cause this should have been out 2001/2002.

hahaha i was just thinking that, if i had a few million to spare i would be writing a check for a million dollars right now. I used to play so much duke nukem 3d, even if this game was as great i still have to have 1 more go with duke.

edit: Also am i the only one that misses these kind of games? Like the way doom used to be or duke nukem 3d? Just games made for fun, not somethign with all multiplayer in mind, or some huge compelling story, while i love all these things, there is nothign out there like duke anymore. Damn shame this game never came out, we need something like this to freshen up the stale FPS market we have today.

Sorry but this looks like crap in my opinion. Just because its now cancelled people are going on and on about how great it would have been. To me it looks like another generic FPS with nothing new about it. Might as well have been Haze 1.5.

I don't see any justification for comparing it to Haze 1.5. Sure, it was unfinished graphically. But in terms of the sheer gunplay shown, it looked top notch... something that can't be said about Haze.

I'll take this over KZ2 any day of the week. Duke has character; heart and soul. He's an iconic badass. Something most FPS's fail in these days. I prefer the 3D Realms/id-style FPS's over the garbage out there today.

It's a short demo reel made by an animator to showcase some of HIS work, not that he needs a job. The animations were INCREDIBLE, in both idea and execution, and they were HIS work ALONE. Everything else is irrelevant, considering the POINT of the video.

We're lucky that the video contained some great gameplay footage too.
