EA: Battlefield 3 Designed to Take Down Call of Duty

EA want TOR to take down Wow aswell...

did EA invest millions on a brand new engine for TOR? Was TOR being made for 6 years? Did EA spend hundreds of millions of dollars in marketing? EA did all of that for Battlefield 3 and then some.

People have been making better FPS titles than Call of Duty for years, and none of them have sold better.

Not all FPS titles have the Battlefield brand name ;) and the support of PC gamers, especially since this is one of the few games really pushing PC hardware.

EA has the potential to steal away the FPS crown from MW. They better advertise the hell out of this game because it already has better gameplay then any CoD game. Once people see how superior it is to CoD then they are just going move to Battlefield.

I think CoD is more successful because of it's marketing and brand name, not necessarily the gameplay.

EA seems to be ready to put serious cash into their marketing for BF3.

All I have to say is: primary platform is PC, 64 player games, jets, prone, DX11, and dedicated servers. Tell me it's a consolized CoD clone.

I agree. But they need to make the guns harder to use, just not to the extent that BF2 did. Guns that fire continueously need kick, especially assault rifles and submachine guns. The accuracy is way too high in BC2 to say you can't go prone.

If there is jets there HAS to be effective countermeasures, perhaps stingers or the stationary guns from BF2, only with a lot more range.

If West and Zampella, can get the co-owner title from the court for Modern Warfare, then they allow EA to use that title for Battlefield 3, and then BF3 is renamed to Battlefield: Modern Warfare 3.

THEN Battlefield will outsell Call of Duty. The name and the social factor is what sells Call of Duty.

Imagine; Battlefield: Modern Warfare 3 v. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3.

On PC I daresay they could get match or exceed Call of Duty sales. On consoles? Doubt it. Still, it'll almost indefinitely be the better game.

The only way to take down CoD is to completely dumb down your game so it'll have kill streaks, unbalanced gameplay, and a terrible spawn system. 3Guilty_4Spark3

All battlefield games have had a *****y spawn system, especially bad company.

Wish I had a PC capable of running the game, but I'll be satisfied with my 360 version.
