EA hits a new low..

I completely agree! Nothing says like mythical fantasy adventure or future 300,000 AD warfare for humanity then seeing a wallpaper about modern underwear. People need to get over themselves having in game ads will be great! Sure you still buy the game at full price but it means more money for the people who make the game even if their game was a sleeper hit so it's A-OK.

I think a lot of people in this thread, frankly, don't know what an advertisement is and what its purpose is.

#1 ZERO impact on gameplay

#2 Have you ever actually seen a sports broadcast. "Millerlight half-time report", "Armor-all offensive breakdown", "these stats bought to you by McDonalds, i'm lovin it." If you would act like blatant advertising isn't a norm in sports, you clearly don't watch sports... and if you don't watch sports why on earth do you care about whats going on in the sports game genre?

That is totally low, so with all the millions they saved they can make the game cheaper to buy right? I think that is totally wrong and I'll not buy any game has advertising like that in it and is not way cheaper to buy. EA you suck.

I don't think it is a big deal .... television broadcasters do it. I'm surprised there is no ads painted on the ground, padding for the poles, ext. That would make it more realistic.daqua_99

I think what annoys people is the very fact that, instead of putting it on the ground or on poles, they put just plane in the center of the screen during gameplay. What's next? Short adds inbetween gameplay like on TV? (commercials)

It's nothing incredibly serious, but it is pretty obnoxious of them, especially to stick that into the middle of a possession. I can understand having sponsored replays or whatever, like some other sports games do, but it shouldn't be a part of actual gameplay.

It's nothing like the XBL ads. Those ads inform you of content on the Marketplace. They are always related to the 360 and what it has to offer. Plus, if you don't like them, you can always turn them off. Problem solved.

I lost faith in EA after they stated that European users must pay over double what Americans pay for Rock Band. And the DLC weapons from launch.

they have had tons of adverts in their sports games for years but they've managed to blend it into the feel of the game

thats what im trying to say, if coca cola really wanted their name over the game surely they could have thrown it in elsewhere, on billboards at the grounds or mentiond by the commentator

but to do that would coca cola already have to have official sponsors in place?

Forget that, why don't EA just realease an update pack every year. For 80 MS points or £5.99 on the PS3 you get a download that updates stats/characters/team listings etc instead of people having to buy a full game again.

The ads ain't that bad, it adds realisim so I like that. Check Fight Night 3, that screen shot the OP shown is not as bad as unlocking the Dodge car advert or the commentators showing it off before the fight.
