EA: No next-gen FIFA 14 on PC because users have low-spec machines

"Even though there were some PCs on the marketplace that could run that engine, the lion's share of PCs on the marketplace could not," EA Sports executive VP Andrew Wilson told Polygon of the delayed arrival of the FIFA 11 engine, which didnt hit the platform until last years release of FIFA 13.

"The majority of the gamer base that was playing the game on PC did not have a PC spec that would work with that."

Most likely true. No BS here. Although we love to talk about high-end and enthusiast-class gaming PCs, the majority of PC gamers still run on mid-end or low-end gaming PCs.

It's the same with consoles. 99% of console gamers are still using a low-end class. Almost no one has upgraded to the fancy new middle-end one.

At least in my case, most screenies I post are from games I play on my PC.

I have to agree with EA, out of my Battlefield 3 clan of 200 or so members maybe 20-30 have PC's that can run high settings and less than 10 that can max it out.  The rest run on low-medium and won't be upgrading anytime soon.

Current mid end rigs. But most people dont upgrade their rig every year. Most people are PC gaming on laptops and old desktops.

Same could be said about Sony fanbois that claim they have a decent PC to run those "exclusive" XBox/PC games.  I seriously doubt most of them have a decent PC.

I personally will be enjoying all 3 systems including my high-end PC, but I can afford to do so.  My game purchasing decisions come down to which system will play it better and the online community.  PC wins most of the time.
