its a gimmick
just because Avatar made alot of money, everyone jumped on the 3D bandwagon

atelast you can turn the 3d off. Same can't be said about motion controlled gamesIt's hard to imagine coming up with a worse gimmick than motion controls.
And then Nintendo made a 3d handheld.....

The reason why the monitor costs less is because it's smaller.. Sure, if you chose a Radeon card or still use Windows XP then 3D Vision will cost you a bundle. But 3D Vision is designed for people who already have Windows Vista/7 and an NVidia GPU.[QUOTE="xsubtownerx"][QUOTE="ShadowDeathX"]
3D Monitor costs WAY less then a 3D HDTV. I haven't seen a 3D Monitor that supports HDMI 1.4 yet and supports PS3 3D.

As for costs, I have an NVidia 3D Vision setup myself.
I use this 3D Viewsonic monitor, which currently retails for $219: [link] (yes, it's 1680x1050, but I actually like 1680x1050, and needed to upgrade from an old 1440x900 one).
And then there's the 3D Vision Kit, which you can now pickup for $120: [link]
And that's about it. Not so expensive.
Not so expensive if you already have everything, or "almost" everything.. This logic hurts my brain.I feel similarly. I think 3D is awesome; it makes the game feel more real, really draws me in.I'll never understand the people who denounce 3D without trying it. It's an awesome effect and unless you're one of the unlucky people who gets headaches or eye strains when playing it, I don't understand why people want to hate it. I never really 3D would add that much or be very cool but then I actually tried the system and realized that while it might not have a huge effect on gameplay, the effect works well and looks pretty cool.

Well, i am enjoying 3D very much. Motorstorm Apocolypse and a couple of other PS3 Games are amazing in 3D. Crysis 2 is the only EA game i know of that supported 3D....any others? The low sales for Crysis 2 can not be blamed on 3D. I fully support 3D now even if the tech is in a transitional stage. I cant wait for Uncharted 3.
If 3D screens could be made so that they didn't cause nausea and eye strain... then 3D might just take off (but I doubt it.)

Unless you're one of the unlucky 25% of people......
Doesn't bother me, but it feels cheap and chintzy. Just a gimmick that got made up to try and sell TVs that are beyond or "better than HD"
Thanks dxmcat. That has to be one of the best articles describing the situation Ive ever read. His xeperience parallels mine almot exactly.
yeah, 3D is worthless to me...even in movies..it is cool for 5 minutes or so [QUOTE="LegatoSkyheart"]Also EA, I have yet to see anything productive from you.Giancar:|
For the 3DS, My Phone went stupid, sorry about that.
I know EA has some amazing Games like Battlefield and Mirror's Edge and such, but for the 3DS I have seen NOTHING from EA, or heck I haven't even seen a 3D PS3 game from EA for that matter.
I don't think you could ever get rid of that with tech. It's something you have to live with until your body adapts. What I think would make 3D better is if they made it so that you don't have to wear glasses. If 3D screens could be made so that they didn't cause nausea and eye strain... then 3D might just take off (but I doubt it.)

Passive 3D I find gives me less headaches and eye strain then active 3D with shutter glasses the glasses are also significantly cheaper per pair.If 3D screens could be made so that they didn't cause nausea and eye strain... then 3D might just take off (but I doubt it.)

Yeah as expected 3DTVs cost too much atm, Sony will keep pushing it though.

For the price its imposible to find non 3D 1080p t.v that is comparable in size for less then this one.

i actually think that if its done right then it looks great in the cinema. shame that more often then not the 3D is arse .now we just need pseudo 3d movies to go the way of the dodo...sadly people are sheep and going to these movies in 3d and paying 13-20 dollars a ticket for em...

3d is not for everyone but I love it. I bought a asus vg236 monitor bundled with the nvidia 3d vision glasses two weeks ago.
I thought that I would try it out for thirty days and I have decided to keep it. I bought the monitor mainly for the 120hz feature but the 3d has given new life to games which I had already completed.
It if was cheaper then I would recommend it but I agree that it is still expensive. If you can afford it though then go for it on pc as there are a lot of games that can be configured to work with it. I am not much of a movie fan although I have seen the legend of the guardians and it was very impressive.
Funny thing is that most ea games that I own don't play to well in 3d like shift 2, dead space and hot pursuit.
