the game really wasn't built around PC first, they just made stupid pc fanbois believe it to be true. Its got eye candy that finally rivals a 2007 game, and a bit bigger mp sessions, but everything else about this game is screaming console.

savagetwinkie

what more do you want? The minimum settings are console, everything higher than that is pc. There are other things sacrificed to make it run on consoles that arent sacrificed on pc. It also beats crysis in every way, including optimization. Crysis was also designed around hardware that didnt even exist yet, battlefield 3 a multiplayer focused game is built around what people actually have.

Bad Copmpany 2 sold in PC almost as well as in Xbox 360.

The surprise here comes due Battlefield 3 is a ultrabuggy game -I still wasn't able to join a single match in 5 days- with only 3 "battlefield maps" (Caspian, Kharg, Firestorm) and one single functionally kind of soldier (engineer). Campaign, coop, and 6 of the 9 maps are just bad.

Ondoval
Exactly, even on consoles with max 24 players, this game lags. I'm taking a break until Back to Karkand comes out. Then there will be 7 of 13 as legit Battlefield maps and not just 3 of 9. The current rotation is getting old fast. Launching with anything less than 12 maps is weak.

Kinda surprised considering the amount of hatred for origin(rightfully so)

Yeah, I myself would rather play an inferior console version than go through origin, but maybe that's just me.

I wonder how many sales are from the PC? Since they are surprised, I'm going to assume around 3 million sales came from the PC? Origin recently got 5 million accounts build up. Don't see another magnet to use Origin or sign up for it.ShadowDeathX

If you have an EA account it automatically creates an origin account I think.

Well BF3 is basically all about MP(despite current attempts from EA and Dice). Pirating this game is almost pointless for any gamer that knows what BF is and wants to play it (hacked servers are like the wild west). Only random players that don't know what it is would pirate it since it has a SP. So I'm not surprised that it is actually selling.

Battlelog is the single most idiotic idea to come out in the last 5 years.percech

Why?

IMO battlelog is a revolution, and was sorely needed. It is literally an epic interface.

Yeah battlelog is growing on me.

Make the site mobile friendly, ro release an app for iOS/android and it'll be even better.

I like being able to trakc my servers/platoon members/friend all on one website.

True. Battlelog is simply the proper and official implementation of something PC gamers had already been doing for years to try to get more specific game and community options, that the in-game browser couldn't manage.

Imagine how much more it would have sold with Steam too! It annoys me that EA and DICE underestimate the worth of a well done PC game.

Corporations are a bunch of wimps, they see the trend but are scared to risk invesetor cash on a major PC push.

They will come to our side soon, PC gamers have the money, as opposed to the 'lend-borrow' mantra of the console consumers.

Not much more at all. Why on earth would someone not buy a game they wanted because it's not on steam?. That would be idiotic.

They shouldn't be too surprised considering they probably spent 3 times the development cost of the game to advertise it... the COD way.

To me its the combination of origin and battlelog, 2 terrible middlemen that tend to not fully function all the time. What was so hard and/or unattractive about implementing a plain jane no frills server browser like every battlefield before this one?

Are you using IE 6? :)

I haven't had a single issue. Not saying something isn't legitimately wrong, just that me and 5 guys on my friendslist don't have that problem.

So, taking your temporary problems out of the equation, battlelog represents an epic system that I hope more MP games start to use.

All I'm hearing about the game so far is complaints so it seems like people are only buying it for the graphics. I'm a little cautious.tomarlyn
They are just trolls, but waiting for a slight pricedrop and more importantly, patches, might be a good idea.

@ GeorgeCScott, lucky you... so you were never dropped from a game, or crashed to desktop, or had to "repair install" after some port forwarding to finally have bf3 origin sync to game manager? I envy you and your 5 buddies, it appears most of my buddies are of the unlucky persuasion as well. BTW, what exactly screamed "epic interface" or "epic system" about battlelog to you? Maybe you see something a lot do not and would be willing to share your insigh so that we could appreciate it as much as your enlightened crew.

Yes half the time

I'm using Firefox/Pale Moon as it sucked with IE9 and Chrome

I've had multiple issues that existed in the f'ing beta. All of my friends have this problem.

It's not temporary, it's a well known problem. I don't want any games to use it. It's fine for social, but it shouldn't be required just to start the damn game.

Uh what? :? The game is focused on the PC first. The graphics in DX 11 easily MAULS every other game on the market including MW3, larger maps on the PC, 64 player support on the PC? Exactly what do you want more.

And the sad thing is... BF3 was made for consoles and not for PC. Because they hate PC gamers and give us buggy crap that isn't worth $60. Just imagine if BF3 had a clear PC vision and the bugs were worked out... They would have sold even more copies. I know 3 friends that didn't buy it because of beta and after I told them after retail that the game is still broke... they gave up the idea to ever get it. One of my friends don't even play his copy of the game any more. After just 4 hours.Truth_Hurts_U

16 of my friends stopped playing on their PS3 because they had to do updates and couldn't just plug and play. One was so angry he threw his wii mote at his pet gerbil and it hit its water dish. Thats how babies are born.

Probably just a small amount more and their profit margins would've been far lower.

The reason for that is because its a multiplayer game... Just like Starcraft 2. If it was a singleplayer only (i know id doesn't make any sense cuz its BF duh) it would've sold poorly as always.

That's why The Witcher 2, an rpg with like no advertising and small budget for such a large game sold over a million in less than a month, right?

Yet there's more than enough singleplayer centric IPs that do well on the PC, and the PC gets the most development love in than any other platform, still.

That's true, but only because it's a battlefield game. There's plenty of singleplayer games that do well on pc.

I don't dislike Origin, I dislike Battlelog. I would have preferred buying it off Steam, though.

I do want to know how many sales the PC got.
