This guys does know that most games are either 720p, or upscaled 640p, right? On the 360, especially, the prevalence of upscaling over native HD resolutions is rampant. I can count the number of native 1080p games on one hand across both platforms.

He has to underplay any advancements in the next gen while arguing for stretching out this gen, after all the PS3 and Xbox 360 have a combined userbase of like 100 million-plus consoles for 3rd party multiplatform publishers like EA to sell games to, plus that's just going to grow with the Wii U catching Nintendo up to current gen multiplatform development, and that helps EA's profits to have a wide audience to sell each game to, if Sony and MS jump into the next gen with their consoles and publishers like EA have to make games for the new technology with a smaller userbase then they're going to have smaller revenues while the userbases for the new consoles grow.

I just activated my founding member free membership on OnLive and i have to say the service is amazing. Everything is streaming stress free in real time. The Arena holds hundreds of mini windows of people playing their games in real time, one click and you are spectating their game and chatting. Go to the marketplace, click on a tree trial for a new game and in seconds you are in the game. This is what the next gen consoles need to accomplish. GameStop is now creating an "OnLive" killer service as well. This is where the future of gaming is headed

A developer that's actually saying that console manufacturers have to go beyond the norm and do something different? Finally. I thought I was alone in thinking "If PS4 and Xbox 3 are just the same as last gen I'll be disappointed".

This is the exact reason why both are holding back until technology improves greatly. Nintendo is being desperate though
