some one in neogaf say :

" I saw Playr this morning too. It's basically the new version of Gamer TV. Made by the same people with the same format but with a different, less nasally, presenter. Airs in the UK on Bravo at the weekend (a satellite/cable channel).

They had a Sony rep demoing KZ2. He spoke about AI advancements although it wasn't abundantly clear that the clips tallied with what he was saying.

Couple of other things though. The dude said there were some new weapons that people would be impressed with. He then cryptically added that we'd see them in the next couple of months. Magazine exclusive reveal or more likely E3?

He also said every level would take about 45/50 minutes to complete "

we saw 3 levels : 50 * 3 = 150 minutes = 2.5 hours

at minimum there will be 10 levels so : 50 * 10 = 500 minutes ~ 8 hours .

good for shooter

Not bad. Has there been any word on possible multiplayer options in KZ2 yet?

Each level being 2 gigs was a misunderstanding caused by a Killzone dev. When an interviewer asked how big the E3 2007 demo would be, a dev replayed "2 gigs", so people started thinking that each level will be 2 gigs. It turns out that there is a lot of background software that will be shared through all the levels, the demo was 2 gigs because the guy was counting all that software in the background, the levels will be much lower than 2 gigs. This was said by a Killzone dev on the KZ forums.

That has nothing to do with it, and linear games aren't bad. (Halo 3, COD4, etc)

What do you mean? I am of the understanding that a level that takes up that much space would be fairly large. So, I think it would be hard to call it a very linear, strictly corridor type game as a result.

That's cool. I just remember an article stating that there would be 2 gig levels, so I was under the impression that certain levels would be fairly large. That clears it up though. I guess you have to take into account all they are putting into those levels as well, lol. From what we have seen, there is ALOT going on at once.

Well, even if the 2 Gig number was complete truth and did not factor in the engine, etc, size on the disc does not mean that the game will or won't be linear. Textures, enemies, AI routines, scripted events, physics, etc all play into the size of a level, and that does not show one way or the other if its wide open or corridor.

Again, I was thinking in terms of overall size vs. a linear, corridor type of shooter. And I just assumed that since a level took up that much space, that it must be fairly large, instead of having a narrow, linear path.

You are right, I was just not taking all of that into account from the get go. I was taking the "2 gigs" proclamation at face value and prematurely assumed that it would = a large, wide open level.

I'm really forward for this on my PS3, but for a game that's been in developpement since forever, cost millions of dollars and that is supposed to be an amazing PS3 exclusive, I honestly think 8 hours is highly dissapoiting (I'm thinking the multiplayer most probably won't be amazing, at least not enough to balance out the 8 hour SP).

It would be great. I am not expecting wide open gameplay, but if it does have that, all the better. I just want it to come out eventually. :P
