HD DVD gone? *stop reading*rey06
There are still people out there that believes that HD-DVD will win the format wars.:lol:
HD DVD gone? *stop reading*rey06bluray has more studio support. is increasing faster to other products and getting preferable treatment from more retailers. has better sales and much more promising over all.
in fact.... blu ray and hd dvd are both doing horribly in reality... no one is ready to step next gen yet... you definitely do not know the facts my african friend[QUOTE="hobbit93"][QUOTE="Friendlyfire53"]hd dvd is doing horribly...Art_424

By the time Bluray takes over, that techonology will be dirt cheap and will be more affordable to the general public.

the only reason is because they ahve marketed blu ray on a console.. this case being the PS3 ... thats why for microsofts third generation console... a next gen installment must be made... only then can we judge them... and in reality... if SONY saying that the 10 year cycle of the ps3 is true... it will be competing with MS's third console already in develepment... and from the looks of it... ps3 isnt ready for a second round[QUOTE="lowe0"][QUOTE="HuhJustaBox"][QUOTE="rey06"]HD DVD gone? *stop reading*R-Dot-Yung

There are still people out there who think either one will win the format wars? :lol:there are still people out there that put DVD in the same league/war as HD DVD and Blu Ray?
Probably because the cost is not worth the upgrade.
2009, Isn't that about the time the new Xbox should be coming out?afmsquid
well I would hope MS wouldn't put one out till 2010, but yea the old xbox was only out for 4 years (mostly since MS wanted to get a jump on sony).
Of course if MS dominates this gen then we may see an 09 release for both since they'll want to be the first to release. I'd hope this wouldn't turn into a release war and we start seeing console cycles of 3 years.

Fact! DVD is not competing with blu-ray or HD-DVD. Fact! PS2 is not competing with next gen systems. Fact! You are out of touch with reality.
I am so tired of people claiming DVD is going to beat blu-ray. Blu-ray is the new format. VHS was not competing with DVD--eventually DVD replaced it as the next new tech format. Blu-ray is going to beat HD-DVD (google the facts about studio support, stores dropping HD-DVD from shelves, movies that come out on both formats sell on blu-ray at 3-1 to 4-1rates over HD-DVD, etc.)
Blu-ray will be the new DVD, as DVD was the new VHS. Oh, and to any that claims the difference is not that big--yeah go look at a 60 inch 1080p set playing blu-ray and one playing DVD--the difference is mind blowing.
Note: that it will take blu-ray longer to become adopted by the masses as now consumers have to buy a new tv along with this new video player. However, HDTV prices are falling by the minute and more and more people are jumping on board. Combine that with projected blu-ray player prices to hit the $200 mark around next summer and by holiday 2008--the mass transfer over to the new movie format will begin.

Only little kids think there is only a "little difference" between 480p DVD and 1080p Blu-Ray.
Not to mention the fact that Blu-Ray movies are inching closer and closer to the holy $20 price tag, with some titles already achieving it.
Not to mention Target promoting Blu-Ray exclusively in store.
Not to mention BJ's promoting Blu-Ray exclusively in store.
Not to mention overwhelming studio support for Blu-Ray over HD-DVD
Not to mention Sony's Blu-Ray trojan horse that is the PS3.

Having a life stops time? COOL!
Dude... waiting isn't an activity. Everyone is always waiting, even if they do something else at the same time.

HD-DVD? certainly not blu-ray a sony product. it shows the ps3are years ahead of the 360.
