Makes you nauseous? It's just a magazine, I don't see why you've expressed such emotional gravitas about it :?

I get the impression that some posters just look at Edge's scores and just cry foul if it dosen't correspond with the metacritic average, same to an extent with Eurogamer. I have no idea why people expect every outlet to score the same, as if they expect consistency from opinions. I personally find Edge's approach to be refreshing, same with Eurogamer's.

I dont know about edge. But some of Eurogamer's scores are baseless, and dont make any sense. It isnt interesting to me to see a game get something undeserved. I hope they remember that its about the viewers seeing what kind of game we want, not how daring their review is.

I'm just glad that some reviewers still see, at least somewhat, eye to eye with me. There's has been more than a few 9/10's that could'nt agree with,

you just can't be critical of video-games as you can with a film or novel

Also this statement is horrible. Of course you can, if anything video games should be held to an even regard; its not as if the mediums worth isn't downplayed enough.

Yeah to be honest that really stuck out to me. SO i guess a Trashy Teenage romance Novel deserves more time and criticism than Mass Effect 2 or Neverwinters Nights 2. Thats a very limited view and suggests you TC do not fully understand the effort and serious side of the computer game industry. The stories and scenes portrayed in some games are as powerful as any decent movie or book.

EDGE is easily one of the better gaming publications out there. Their writing style and critique structures are among the best in the industry, blending literary creativity with insightful criticism. How you find them as pretentious is way, WAY beyond me. If anything, we should criticize IGN, as at least 90% of their writing staff can't write for ****. They're no more insightful or creative than some of the better user reviews here, and at times even worse.
