MW2 - 9

ACII - 8

L4D2 - 9

Bayonetta - 10!

Spirit Tracks - 8

Sin And Punishment: Successor to the Sky - 8

Dragon Age: Origins (360 version) - 5 :(

SAW - 4

Lit - 7

Darkside Chronicles - 7

Football Manager 2010 - 8

Tropico 3 - 7

Spaceball Revoloution - 5

Other stuff: 6 page preview of Crackdown 2, interview with Shigeru Miyamoto, 7 page APB preview, Dust 514 reveal.

I'll update later with some Crackdown 2 info...

Edit: Here -

- Game is 60 percent complete, releasing some time in early 2010

- "a horde of muderous, genetically modified freaks, created by rogue scientist Dr Czernenko (and accidentally unleashed by the Agent in a Crackdown mission), now wander the streets in their thousands. During a decade of bloodshed, dozens of survivors have organised into a quasi-terrorist outfit known as The Cell, aiming to fight the freaks and sabotage the discredited Agency prgramme. As the player enters the game, the once-powerful organistion is regrouping; you're the first agent they've got back online".

- "Pacific City has effectively been rebuilt for Crackdown 2. The road layout is the same, and veterans will recognize many districts, but this is no longer a functioning conurbation: it's an urban warzone. Around the crumblng buildings, areas are now being reclaimed by vegetation."... "everywhere, there are rusting corregated iron barriers and makeshift shanty towns. It's a bold vision, like Mad Max 2 moved into a modern US city."

- "The aim is to clean up the streets, of course - just as it was in the first game. But this time there's a heck of a lot more brutality. While the day/night cycle was purely aesthetic in the first title, it's key to the games structure this time around.... In Crackdown, players were punished for shooting or running down inhabitants - now it's encouraged."

- As in the first game, there's a series of missions that can be undertaken in any orderm at any time - but there have been key structual changes.

- There's alot more story.

- There's a much larger variety of guns (I counted 31, and 18 vehicles).

- This time, missions are split into staged objectives, which all have a specific narrative purpose.

- There will be DLC and an equivelant of Keys to the City.

- No cutscenes, but some version of 'Audio Logs'.

- 4 Player Co-op. Different players can undertake different misssions at the same time.

- Same 5 skills to upgrade as the first.

- You can pick up almost any object and use it like a sword, Dead Rising style.

- New types of grenade (e.g. Megnetic).

- A.I. are more agile and will chase you across rooftops.

- New types of ORBZ to collect!!!

Wooooooooooo!

I knew Bayonetta would deliver! a freaking 10 from edge means alot seeing as games such as Gears and MGS4 scored in the 7 range. S&P2 scoring an 8 also looks like it will deliver as expected.

Im also curious as to why there isnt a Crystal Bearers review, the game comes out in 2-3 weeks.

AC2 an 8 and Bayonetta a 10? You sure you didn't switch the scores by mistake?:P I dunno..I'm looking forward to Bayonetta alot, but what I've seen so far and from playing the demo it feels like a AA game.. AC2 feels like a solid AAA game.

Wow. EDGE's scores sure are unconsistent in terms of scoring a game on quality.

You dont think that means Edge is inconsistant because that is what I have got from them over time.

Like Eurogamer, Edge come across as being very inconsistent on how harsh they want to be on certain games. It just makes me think that they sometimes do it just for attention.

Spirit Tracks an 8?

Hopefully they just didn't like the game, because when I get it, I'm not putting it down.

They gave Dragon Age a 5 (Which I'm guessing was done largely for attention) and Bayonetta a 10. Even a harsh look at Dragon Age's shortcoming should at least yield a 7.

Dragon Age a 5, yet Football Manager 2010 gets an 8? You have got to be kidding me. Then again, it is not suprising considering some of the scores they have given to role playing games in the past:

Mass Effect - 7/10

Jade Empire - 7/10

Baldur's Gate 2 - 8/10

The Witcher - 5/10

Morrowind - 6/10

Oblivion - 8/10

Fallout 3 - 7/10

Diablo - 7/10

Diablo II - 6/10

I know, I know, "it is the written review that counts with EDGE", right? I don't care, a scale of 1-10 is a scale of 1-10 no matter how you slice it. I just don't buy the excuse that EDGE magazine is an exception and a 5 from from them equates to a 7 or 8 elsewhere. If such is the case, then what does the that make the 10 they gave to Halo 3? A 12/10 elsewhere? I don't care how respected they are, their reviewing system flat out blows in the "We just want to prove we are different" sort of way.

So you're just complaining about the scores of two games that are not supposed to be compared directly, one of which you probably haven't played. Have you even read their complaints and reviews, or are just assuming that the reviews are uninformative and not justified because of the scores?

I think your comparing apples and oranges. It's clear Edge doesn't like CRPGS or it is simply more critical of them hence the low scored on such games

They should be burned at the stake for their Diablo series and Morrowind reviews alone.

I'm just saying at the very least, their review of Dragon Age was harsh. Which would be fine, if they were harsh reviewers in general, but they give games like Bayonetta and Halo 3 10's. You're right though, I haven't played Bayonetta yet. So if I do, and come to any conclusion other than it being a well polished Devil May Cry clone I'll apologize.

Yes, that is obvious and was part of my point. Meaning, the reviews are laden with bias and personal preference over giving the consumer a fair and objective assessment based on if RPG fans will like it or not.

I think L4D2 is being criminally over-rated to be honest. It's great fun, but it simply doesn't deserve AAA scores. Is that what the gaming industry is calling 'superb' now? A full-priced game which features the same engine as the previous one, the same gameplay, the same setup, the same everything? And the original was lacking in content to start with. It's just not up to 'superb' standard.

You have to read the reviews to understand the score. It's not like Gamespot where something gets a 9 and you know 'that means they think i should buy it'. EDGE frequently do reviews where they dont give any score at all. If you read the review text, it always makes sense.

L4D2 is all about Versus. The concept takes online multiplayer to a new level, with the combination of campaign, co-op and competative play. Nothing else does this this.

Ehh. It just sounds like a slight makeover.

They gave probably the greatest CRPG (Some would say best PC game) of all time an 8? There is no justification for that, NONE. Also the other scores they gave (Especially The Witcher and Diablo series) make me sad.

You know, I've actually thought about looking into Bayonetta, I saw that one of her special attack's summons a ''Hellsing'esk Demon dog'' and I thought ''Oh lawdy am I in heaven!'' :P Cheers on the Crackdown info too, looks to be a good replacement for the aging-not-so-well [Prototype]. Hell I bargined the first one just for the ''keys of the city'' mode! :) ORBZ!! :D

Bayonetta has been kicking ass in terms of review scores, which the early demo worked on my console = (. Sin and Punishment looks to be a big hit as well judging by that score, very naice.
