That's one long quote Michael.

The system would be much more worthwhile if it had more of the first party support outside of Mario. Look, I know a lot of people like Mario, but I'm not a fan of him outside of the RPGs. A Fire Emblem U (hopefully FE x SMT scratches this itch) and new Zelda U would really push me towards getting a bundle for $250ish as the next gen console to compliment my PC.
Untill I see a zelda game or metroid game or another exclusive I care about wiiu has jack to offer me. I dont care about mario anymore that plumber doesint do it for me anymore.
the wii u is a big pile of steaming nintendo crap they decided to drop ontop of a un suspecting public..
the store if a massive fail thats very expensive and nothing worth a download.. the games are rubbish..
these idiots at nintendo could'nt write a good peice of code if there lives depended on it..the menues take ages to load its so much of a pain in the ass to even navigate it..
i had a wii u for a short while i was glad to get rid of it...worse buy ive ever done..
its going to tank bad come next month.....nintendo should just forget systems all together and just release games..sega atleast had the common sense to do it years ago.
just shows how stupid nintendo really is hahahahahahah

Do I really need to dig on how that's a bad idea? Because the rest of this forum is getting tired of it and I don't blame them.

@KBFloYd: they put out like 10 mario games a year. Last I checked those franchises are not nearly that often.
Whoa! Stretching that, aren't we?
The Wii-U , what a underpowered heap of shit ...still waggle, crappy controller with low battery life and low res screen ..
But then they show the incredible Mario 3D world and the longing starts ....
Damn you Nintendo !

No, he isn't there is usually between 5-10 Mario games released a year on multiple systems.
Am I the only one who thinks Nintendo should go for the 20-30 year old market? If they create commercials with "the lads" playing mario kart while drinking and having a bit of banter I seriously think they have the games to take over that market (which would be hilarious because of how desperate Microsoft seems to want it).

Honestly, after the Bayo 2 fiasco... no. It's just not going to work no matter what they try (well, things would change if they got Rare back, but when the hell will that happen).

Pick three random years between 06 and now with ten Mario games on each system in those respective years, because I surely don't remember THAT much.

it depends. Are you going you say games like Luigi's Mansion don't count because they aren't platformers or feature Mario himself? It really depends on if we're talking about the entire franchise or the character himself. Obviously I would be including games like Mario Party etc... Also, I didn't mean 10 games on each system. I meant between systems per year.

Inclusion of the characters or not. Different genres or not. I doubt there are that many Mario games released a year.

Just go to the link below.. It's not quite 10 a year but it's usually between 5-8 a year which supports my statement. 5-10 Mario games a year between multiple systems.

Multiple systems together: Fair point, then.
Single systems: Not exactly the 10 the poster I responded to is talking about, is there? The only year that I see with 10+ Mario games is 2005 and that was among one of the GameCube's worst years and DS' rough start.

Nope. 10 is an exaggeration but Nintendo still puts multiple Mario games on a system yearly generally then most other companies. Heck outside of the Guitar Hero / Rock Band milking with expansion / DLC packs when they were around, I can't think of another company that does more games in the same franchises per year.

Which is exactly the point I was trying to make (about the bolded). Yes, Nintendo has thrown a lot of Mario games, but looking at that list outside of 2004 and 2005 (where the GC was at it's worst and the DS had a struggling launch), it isn't THAT much.
Wii:U is right now, is good for those who like to play some cartoon games.
The whole article is one guy being very nostalgic, and trying to shed a postive light on the Wii:U... whilst they can.
For a example, he says that "Nintendo retail box art" is very good...
It takes more than a good box art to make a brilliant active, all round superior console.
People are grabbing straws here and really ought to read the article properly
Same reasons apply to one guy at Eurogamer, where "Nintendo tried to innovate, but failed on the gamepad"
2 guys are loving a bit colour, taking a trip down memory lane..
There are plenty of games and indie games that provide more better artwork and colours. Next.

So we'd have to assume that people are stupid enough to buy a PS4 just to play multiplat F2P games?
lol.

Yeah because they can't play singleplayer games and have no interest in multiplayer. *rolls eyes*
Nintengodno really messed up big time. There is no waa the wii eww can recover. They need to scrap that outdated POS as fast as they can b4 the next wave of phones outpower it. How pathetic, a so called "next gen console" is weaker than my cell phone. Nintengodno needs some younger replacements asap because old ppl start to loose logic and sense abd that is very evident with nintengodno and their 644777ft pile of hyena dung wii eww.
