Funny how a tread started to stop the rrod and lack of games discussions, turned in to a discussion about the rrod and...

the irony...

Relys

It just proves that we need to stop mentioning it.

I don't think we should. This is what keeps SW alive.

As you see in this thread is impossible to stop this arguments.

In one half we have lemmings saying "I agree with the TC, but the RROD is fixed and PS3 hasn't got games."

In the other half we have cows "I agree with the TC, but we have good games and the RROD isn't fixed."

And in the corner the hermits "PC gaming isn't expensive.", and sheeps "The waggle is not a gimmick."

Is it just me or has anyone else noticed that this thread managed to create an argument over waitstation/RRoD by itself?

I agree, but that is just the way System Wars is wired and it is not going to change. You just have to learn to simply ignore the particular things that get on your nerves and sift the wheat from the chaff. You could also just take a break from coming here for a while every now and then if it gets on your nerves so much. I know sometimes I get sick of coming here, so I just take a break for a bit and go to other sites, but I always land back in here sooner or later, lol.

RRoD is not fixed, no matter how many times you tell yourself that. And there are a very few decent games on PS3 but none worth buying a PS3 for, nice post though.

[QUOTE="Carmilla31"]The rrod is a BIG thing. Why should we forget about it when MS has yet to fix it and its still a major problem? Have you read the 'broken 360' thread yet in the Xbox forums? Just go and count how many people wont be playing games for Christmas because their 360 is away getting repaired.Relys

For the last time. The new falcon chipsets, have fixed this problem for the most part.

Two of my buddies just bought 360's last month, and both of their systems got the RROD. You call that fixed?

I'm also getting tired of cows claiming that the rrod problem is not fixed with the NEW MODELS. How could they know when they hate the 360 and sure as heck don't own one. I do and it does not get hot like the older models, what other proof do they need? To me it just sounds like pathetic desperation.

So 66% of the people in the 360 hardware thread are making it up? Conspiracy theories for the win.

[QUOTE="ZeroPunctuation"]For the people that think the RROD is fixed, it is not. Even with the Falcon Chips the RROD is happening, they barely did anything.
We will know the day RROD is fully fixed because Microsoft will probly adertise it huge trying to convince people its "fixed"
Carmilla31
Exactly. The day its fixed there will be a big MS conference staing, 'The rrod is fixed. Now go buy a 360... NOW!' :P

Uhhhh... no. Actually, there WOULDN'T be. I know you guys like to take petty swings at Microsoft, and I'm all FOR THAT. But could you engage your brain first, THEN open your mouths? That'd be totally super. Thanks.

Come sit closer, my little ones, and I shall explain deniability to you.

Microsoft will NEVER state "The RROD is fixed". They will never ACKNOWLEDGE that it was an issue in the first place. They HAVE never acknowledged it's an issue. They extended the warranty to avoid a potential lawsuit, so long as it pertains to the "general systems failure", but do NOT concede it is a true system fault.

To admit that RROD exists in the first place, by CLAIMING that it is now fixed, would unleash a hurricane of people wanting exchanges, demanding their faulty units be replaced. Who wants a warranty on a product that MAY be faulty, when there's a guarantee there's abetter system out there?

No. All you will hear from Microsoft is what you have already heard. "This is a cooler running chipset".

Now as depressingly tasting ofcorporate doublespeak asthat pill is, and as much as it opens up another argument that Microsoft is a bunch of capitalistic bastards whose hearts pump pure black crude rather then blood... it does mean that the assumption the Falcon chipset has NOT significantly lowered the incident of RROD based on the idea "Microsoft would be bragging about it", is a complete and utter fallacy.

No it didn't. It reduced the failure rate a little.

But it DID NOT fix it!

IT GOT reduced all the way from 33% to under 4%, so what the hell are you talking about?

*looks at Carmilla* ...no? Nothing?Okay. I'll ask him.

Link?

I'd like very much to see the link, considering the Falcon chips didn't ship until towards mid/late september. I'm not calling you a liar, but... I'm very interested how they could get an accurate representation that quickly.

dude the falcon chip wasnt the only thing solving the RROD, and how the hell am i supposed to have a link when its from like 5 months back?, it said something like "the hardware failure has dropped a dramatic 26.8%" idk i remember reading about it though, but even if those # arent the case the percent has dropped significantly

Well that's convenient.

First of all, 5 months isn't that long. Second, we're TALKING about the falcon chipset, so the added heatsink and thermal glue quick fixes are sort of moot as far as this argument goes. Third, a statement like that would be in an ARTICLE, and while the front page is constantly changing, articles are archived. Fourth, and most importantly, in SW if you can't back up a percentage with a link, then you shouldn't post the percentage.

I don't disagree, the percentage of RROD HAS dropped. Significantly I believe. And my old Zephyr 360 hasn't had any problems either. Despite that though, a reasonable certainty the percentage is DOWN, coupled with anecdotal evidence my console is UP, does NOT make a System Wars argument. I've had people tell me, I'm lying because I insisted my console had NOT died, marking me as part of some giant lemming conspiracy (despite my denial of BEING a lemming).

The best policy is Ifyou don't have a link, don't quote it. No one's going to believe it otherwise.

Spoken like a true fanboy. I can show you some grteat PS3 games. You can't show me proof #1 that RRoD has been fixed.

THIS IS WHY THIS THREAD DOESN'T MATTER. Fanboys like this one will ALWAYS come up with something annoying and baseless to throw in your face.

RRoD and No games are both legitimate complaints. It doesn't matter how good the games are on a system if you can't find a piece of hardware to play them on and it doesn't matter how good hardware is if there are no games to play on it.
