It's a different type of game altogether. You're comparing war sims to action games with boss battles and such. It's an unfair comparison.

Gears of war 3 isn't coming 2010. Why would they rellease natal, halo reach, fable 3, and gears of war 3 in the same time frame. Lets kill any possible sales because we release all our games at the same time. 2011 holiday title.

Gears of War and Gears of War 2 are the only games this gen that I have completely unplayable connections on in multiplayer Fix dat **** EpicJuggernaut140

Your connection is not Epics problem, only people who complain have lousy connections.

Can't wait to see more gripping character driven story from that series. So compelling.

While 2 years isn't a bad timeframe for a major change (like Mass Effect 2 and AC2 have shown), Gears 2 was WAY too much like Gears 1 but with gimped MP and Horde mode.

I guess if it did release, MS would finally have a year with mroe than a few exclusives to match Nintendo (which admittadly is full of shovelware) and Sony which tends to shed games like hair lately. It could finally be back to its 2007 golden "lotsa games here" state. Of course, witha Halo game set for 2010 as well as Natal (which can carry its own I might say), I think Gears 3 will not only be a better game with an extra year, but keep a tight release format so they don't run out in 2011 and have to rely on multiplats.

I mean, at this point Gears is almost as major as Halo and with the fun (but not quite living up to the hype) Gears 2, I think Gears 3 can really do something.

Anyways, this was sort of mandatory a new Gears would be mentioned. Gears 2 wasfirst officially mentioned around earlier the year it came out, with a small teaser in spring. At this point both time frames seem likely.

Gears 2 had way better set pieces, the combat environments weren't as linear and had more open areas for flanking tactics. It had multiple vehicle levels that were actually fun this time around and the boss battles made those in Gears 1 look completely pathetic. Gears 2 SP campaign was soo much better then the first. I agree about the MP though, there's no excuse for it working so poorly. Shame too, as the game mechanics for it are really fun.

Its a prequel. Watch it happen and remember I called it.

Hell yes, bring it on! The engine is fine, I want more diverse gameplay elements.

They couldnt release it this year... its just too jampacked. Holiday season presents will alrady be stuffed with Reach, Fable 2, and other games that people missed earlier in the year. theres not enough room for gears. Hopefully they hold off til 2011 sometime

360 has Halo this fall, this can only cause problems.

I dont know why people are claiming it wont happen. Only reason I dont think it would is because Halo Reach is coming out... but I can imagine MS going crazy and launching both. Between those two and the Natal buzz... they would completely dominate the winter in marketing if nothing else.TommyV3456

I'm okay with Gears 3, as long as it's going to end series as promised. I don't want to see Epic turning into a one-trick-pony. I want to see new titles from them, or heck even previous titles that they were known for in the past like Unreal (not unreal tournament though... ).

I just want to play a single player Unreal game that doesn't disappoint. I kinda liked the Unreal universe.

To me Gears needs a break at this point. I'd rather they took their time with it. Hopefully though, it's not a side-story crap like experience that many developers in this day and age seem to enjoy throwing at us. If that is the case, I'd preffer the 3rd one in the series.

Epic will probably tease Gears of War 3 at E3 and then shoot for a Fall 2011 release. I doubt Microsoft would release a Halo and Gears game around the same time.
