ER the most OVERRATED Game of Alltime!!!!!!

The story of this game is not really anything special. Hardly any voice acting just run around die a sh*t ton of times to keep leveling up and fight bosses and die sh*t ton of times rinse and repeat.

ER truly is a game of people just going for Dude Bro bragging rights of I died less then you on that boss blah blah blah and to try and pretend you're some kind of die less then you master gamer or whatever.

ER is literally a game that is nothing more than a 7 but reviewers and gamers for exact reasons stated want something to worship so badly that they go coo coo for coco puffs over ER

Jedi Survivor is way more fun than ER.

Lmao, Elden Ring is as hard or as easy as you want it to be, similarly the lore story etc. is deep or shallow depending on how much reading you do.

I can never follow what the hell goes on in these FromSoft games but I don't really care either, games are fun anyways... couldn't hurt to have a compelling plot though.

The thing is, is that what's happening in those games is actually really interesting, but its impossible for a human brain to untangle the birdsnest of fuckery that is their story.

I am going to go ahead and disagree. Elden Ring is one of the best games to just enter the world and see what boundaries can be pushed at what level. The world is amazing, the gameplay is fun and engaging, there are no cutscenes to take you out of the moment. Elden Ring is gaming as it was intended in early games. No half movie/half game, no qte to get you past enemies, no glowing enemies to let you know they are attacking, and a large world that makes you feel rewarded for exploring it.

It is a shame you don't like it; I am so hyped for Erdtree that I am about to spend another 150+ hours just building a new character and leveling them up while having a blast in this amazing world.

To each their own I suppose.

I really want to, but I don't even know how to play the dlc and am pretty much against looking at guides for any game. Like, I have absolutely no desire to replay a bunch of hours of the base game and I'm assuming I have to? If it was just a standalone expansion I would be all in.

Did you start NG+, and stopped playing at the very beginning? Getting into the DLC isn't difficult, but if you're on a fresh ng+ then yes, there's a decent amount of content you need to go through before you can access the dlc.

Solid choice on Redfall. Underrated

Solid character class and capability diversity allows multiple viable paths....play your preferred style

General atmosphere is really solid

Interesting NPC character designs, in general

Diversity of bosses is excellent, in general

Copy paste on many dungeons: enemies fought, cave/dungeon design, atmosphere, and chariots (lulz)

Too much back and forth travel repetition, walking or riding, leading to fighting or avoiding the same enemies

Difficulty scaling pretty much forces grinding for grindings sake

Camera blows when fighting very large enemies like the fire giant

Shit inventory management and absolutely sinful omissions on how to do certain things

8/10 because in this type of game the core combat is the focus, but the deficiencies mean it isnt a masterpiece.

I don't mind dying in games. The sense of accomplishment after getting stuck on a boss and finally defeating them is a good feeling for me. I don't rage and thro controllers. I'm not 13. I love the challenge From games offer. It takes learning the enemies movements to know when to dodge or parry is all part of the fun. Trying to get back to where you were without dying so you don't lose all the runes you dropped when you died gives a sense of fear that is just amazingly fun.

It isn't for you, I get that. Not everyone likes an actual challenge and wants their hand held through the game. I have been gaming since Pong, so I lived through the challenging games on Atari, Intellivision, NES, SNES, Master System, and Genesis when you actually had to have skill to beat a game.

I am not a fan of hand holding and masses of cutscenes. I want to defeat a boss, not watch it play out in a movie after a qte fest.

To each their own, but it sounds like you don't like it because you aren't good at it.

Also, the story in Elden Ring makes sense if you actually find the elements which explain the story. Some people don't need a movie to explain a story and can get it by finding npcs who give tidbits which need to be pieced together.

As I am typing this, it is really hitting me how amazing From are as developers in an industry which has catered to the masses as opposed to the hardcore gamers.

I've got great taste in video games...and that's why i haven't played elden ring,monster hunter world,baulders gate 3,and i only managed 1 hour of Final fantasy...14 or whatever number it was and it got uninstalled,and i wouldn't play bloodborne if it was free on Ps piss.

ER is pure dog shit ma. It's like a game of who can search crap up on the internet, go back to the game and not even beat the boss they searched shit up on, then watch a youtube video then brag to people on the internet how they "beat" the boss themselves whilst lying behind their computer screens. Rinse and repeat and you have one of the crappiest memes of all time that is ER.

It's like a constant dick measuring contest of all the people you beat at Mario Party as kids, or carried their ass in a game of Halo and now they have nothing better to do other than fanboy for Sony (cringe) and the fact that they somehow invented the shitty genre of ARPG's which are nothing special at all because the untalented hacks at Sony HQ couldn't develop a proper shooter. Just Zelda with a generic fantasy, adult theme and not really that hard as much as much as a sensible player knows not to waste time on this generic, fantasy crap. Kind of like WoW all over again.

Don't even get me started on the story which is non-existent in ER, like most of these games. In the beginning you are a flacid ween and at the end you are the real boner. Congratulations.

ER is the most talk about game in a while. People from social media, streamers make a ton of content because of this game. Personally i was blown away initially but suffers from openworld game issues, being repetitive. But still my game of the generation by far and looking forward to the DLC.

There will be more players playing it on day one (maybe the weekend) than any entertainment on the planet. This is where we're at with Elden Ring. Will be interesting to see if the current ER record on steam could be broken, cuz the hype as i am seeing it is crazy.

Now imagine being someone who doesn't care, and you're not participating in this once a generation event. Holy shit how pathetic.

Im really close to 800 hours and on game +14.

And every time I start a new run its as good as the first one. I can literally play this game until both of my controllers die.

I’m super excited for the DLC.

Should be putting at least 200 hours into it.
