western developers are like hollywood. You'll get the odd good indie film which is interesting and challenging, but most of it's predictable as and formulaic as hell

i said Game devs and Reviewers. lol David jaffe isn't humble, but i don't care about that.

I'm not saying there are NO western devs that have made Awesome games but i'm sorry there's faaaaaaaaaaar more originality coming from the east

it's not like they are't any original games(grim fandango, Monkey island)there are games out there, but they're mostly on PCs or get completelyignored"beyond good and evil"

Metronome(western developer) is a game that'll probably never see the light of day because Western publishers are too afraid of taking risks on something "weird" ...That's the problem bioshock faced. Luckily for us the game made it.

for every game like Heavy rain (western developer) that gets made 10 FPS's and 10 tolkien-esquerpgsare made. Japan can be just as bad with the number of generic anime rpgs that get made, but what annoys me is the attitude of certain reviewers who act like western developers aren't as bad.

we dont have a Shadow of collousus, a standout beat-em up (soul calibur), a zone of the enders?a shenmue a Jet set radiO. an Okami, a legend of zelda, Viwetiful Joe

what impresses me aboutjapan is the sheer diversity of what's being produced.

it's like the difference betweenthe countlessDreamwork and pixar cgi films about bloody animals going on heart-warming adventuresand Spirited Away or princess monoke. Japanese games tend to have a lot more character and colour to them, and generally tend to be more orginial. Viewtiful joe, Okami, Jet set Radio? Shadow of memories (or destiny for the US)

Dark sector (Western developed"started off as a Bizzarre futurist espionage action game set in space.

But then (the devs themselves said this) they completely overhauled the entire thing, borrowedthe the gears of war/resi 4

gameplay mechanic, and completely ruined the story and made it generic as hell. Check out a really earlytrailer for that game. It looked soawesome. You know why they changed? because they think it'll appeal to more people....ugh the game was too "weird" so they put it in the generic blender

Why is it that everyone thinks that MS is gloing to close up shop after Halo 3? There are plenty of titles coming after the release of Halo 3.....

Mass Effect, PGR 4, Too Human, Fable 2, Ninja Gaiden 2, Alan Wake, Splinter Cell Convictions, Banjo Threeie, Gears of War 2, Halo Wars, Huxley....I could go on and on here. There will also be tons of great multiplats. The 360's future is just fine!
