Eternal Sonata the most under appreciated rpg this generation

1. No guns.
2. No aliens
3. no hero in a astronaut uniform

Story was a little lame but the gameplay /art-style is awesome. Especially the Encore mode.

To be honest, I can't even remember the story and I beat it not too long ago. Obviously didn't make an impression. I too thought that the art style and gameplay were awesome.

What is Encore mode?

Encore mode is basically a "New Game +". I'm pretty sure it unlocks just by beating the game.

All enemies have double HP and their attack power / defenseis raised by 50%. Makes things a hell of a lot harder.

Also unlocks the teleporter much earlier so you can revisit towns and get new sidequests and items including the game's best weapon...i think it's called Silver Sword??? I don't remember exactly but it's wayyyy overpowered.

Sweet, thanks for the info! That sounds pretty sweet. Once I beat the game, I just went on to a different game. Once I finish the Orange Box, CoD4, and my second Mass Effect playthrough, I'll have to go back and check that out.

When it debuts on the PS3 next year, I'll be picking it up. It's one of the RPGs I'm looking forward to in 2008 along with Disgaea 3, The Last Remnant, Valkyrie of the Battlefield and White Knight StoryRurouniSaiyajin

Yea, it took some serious balls (can I say balls?) to do what Mistwalker did...

Hopefully N.American's will wise-up and make jRPG's the new craze in '08.

I mean...they have to get tired of FPS / GTA-clones eventually...right? :?
