I'm sure it'll be like MGS4. Lower difficulties, you can run and gun, higher difficulties you have to utilize cover be more careful. I doubt they'll do what they did with Splinter Cell Conviction and make it a game you can easily run and gun in.zero_snake99You can change difficulty setting on Conviction too.
the guy basically admits KZ2 has control problems. serves the KZ2 defenders right. that game was destined to fail because of the "realism" controls. they should just go with the regular control scheme everyone goes with.
its nice how he goes all out on the details during the interview instead of avoiding questions.

Pfft, as long as they keep things like the KZ2 controller layout and the weighted controls as an option, then I'm happy.
Still, it's really good to see that they've basically taken every single complaint about KZ2 and are trying to neutralise the problems. Kudos to Guerilla. I just...hope they don't take it too far and COD it.

The weighted controls was absolute fail. Only a PS3 fanboy forced to like Killzone 2 would say the controls are fine. Ever wonder why no one aims down the sights in Killzone 2? Because you cant aim with the stupid "weighted controls". Everyone runs and guns. The correct term would be "input lag".
Bad Company 2 has weighted controls but that game plays fine down the sights and from the hip.

Don't start making accusations about me being a cow, boy. Ever wondered that maybe there are some people who have grown accustomed to the controls in KZ2, instead of downplaying them as some kind of fanboy?

"We felt that the original Killzone was aimed at the hardcore, a little too much, and it should be opened up a lot more so that everyone can enjoy it."
I have a strong feeling that they are going to make the controls more like CoD.

Alright alright. So you got used to the controls. Some people say the controls are fine from the very start without any getting used to. But you admit theres input lag right? Because this isnt weighted, its input lag. Its clear as day.

Wasn't that before the patch?
Actually, I noticed something interesting the other day. The single player campaign controls are more "weighted" (or input lag, if you like) than in Skirmish mode against bots. The Skirmish sensitivity is way higher. Not sure why, but it is.

I like the controls of killzone because its hard to master... as in really hard. Compared to Killzone, CoD is sooooooooooo easy... Its easy to be pro in CoD but not in Killzone...those complaining about the controls are CoD addicts who think they are pro but cant seem to get a kill in killzone. i hope Killzone 3 sticks to the weighted aiming...its what separates the pro from the noobs...i hate people with elitist attitudes more. TF2, KZ2, BF:BC, Halo:Reach, you name it, they will suck at it.
I'm just going to wait until it's released before I judge it.

I'm with you, I think it will still be great even if they do decide to "casualize" it.
The dev never said anything about ***king up the controls introduced in KZ2, though I am abit worried at how GG is going to implement jetpacks in multiplayer, nevertheless I have my faith on GG to deliver the goods to please both newcomers and hardcore fans of KZ2 alike.

The patch fixed the very small deadzone, but it didnt fix the input delay. Im certain the problem in the video still exists. Ive done the testing myself after the patch. Shooting and jumping is fine, but the response from the analog sticks isnt instant. If it was weightiness or acceleration, the crosshair would move instantly when I want it to, but move slower or accelerate slower. It moves like a few milliseconds after I move the analog stick so what I want to do never really happens on screen when I want.
As for the Skirmish sensitivity, I wouldnt know because its been ages since Ive played Killzone 2. And I never did finish the SP or play Skirmish much. I do know that in Skirmish, the little beep after you kill someone is heard instantly. Online, theres a network lag. The beep comes when the guys already on the floor. But I dont know if thats been fixed. I verified this at multiple locations.
As long as GG keeps the recoil the same I think I'll be fine with more responsive controls
that mastering the recoil of each weapon is what makes KZ2 gunplay feel so Great. Please keep the RECOIL the same.
that is what separates the noobs from the pros
tap, tap, tap baby,
Oh and you can aim down the irons in KZ2 and shoot plently of people. you just aren't suppose to do it all the time. In KZ2 iron sites are only used for medium to long range..high precision shots.
I would prefer keeping the weighty feel, as it distinguishes it from other shooters. That said, it would not really bother me if it ended up being more of a twitchy shooter either. As I am sure it will still be a top notch game overall, given how impressive KZ2 was.

It's like saying "All BFBC2 has is destructible environments" or "All Halo has is teh colors".
Hopefully they will fix the control problems and give us a better story this time. KZ2 was good, but not great.http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/killzone-3-interview

i know people will disagree with me here but personally i think they go for quicker paced aiming like COD. the slower aiming isn't necessarily a bad thing its just that it doesn't go with the gameplay their setting up. In KZ2 the action is very fast paced, frantic, and in all directions. Therefore it's aiming system to play to those strengths but it doesn't, with it's current setup turning around takes a full second which is way too long and even aiming above or belove you takes some time. If you look at BFBC2 is has a similar aiming system as KZ2 but no where near the problem the reason why? BFBC2 multiplaer is a lot slower and deliberate and specifically most of the action happens in front of you not much of it happen above, below, or behind you. If they want to keep KZ2's aiming then they must change the map design and gameplay to suit it the way it set up is to have frantic, quick paced shootouts with slower aiming and very dimensional maps which does not mix.
One thing that doesn't make sense to me is when people say that it's aiming made KZ2 different and hardcore. I'm sorry but KZ2 can't stand on it's own without a frustrating aiming system? KZ2 has a consistently changing game mode(warzone) which besides resistance 2 is not in another game, it has a great kick back system which means you can't spray and pray like in COD, it has a great perks/badges system that creates a great amount of customization and tactics which is unlike anything seen in games. in my opinion it these things that truly separate KZ2 from the pack not it's frustrating and off putting aiming system.

They make the choices by watching what sells and following suit.. The publisher could also call shots to make the game more like cod as well...
Sounds good to me, it's always good to click and read links before jumping to conclusions people :)They said nothing about making it casualized. They said they are going to make the controls more responsive and reconfigure their button layout based of what the community likes. Nothing wrong with that
