Europe gets two new PS3 bundles

yes it is, i bought my PSP from another region, it had a problem, needless to say sony didnt fix it for me for some reason and i had to take it to a regular store and had to pay for fixing it.

point being: im never importing another system again

Even if the console was region free, Blu Ray movie and B/C wouldn't be.

We knew what we where getting our selves into with that, it started off with just Halo and built up. But the PS3 has it more or less sorted with emulation combined with the GPU circuit and has lets be honest a silly amount of good PS2 games.

The PS3 in Europe has no B/C what so ever. We know its out there, we are wondering what Sony are thinking.

If im getting a PS3, I want all thats available, in its features. With the 360 we got the best version available.

Now I like others want the best SCE are giving everyone else.

Buying a PS3 is a long term thing, thats why its worth waiting for a better version.

Europe always gets the best things last....and it isn't just Sony that does it either.

I'll bet Europe will eventually get the MGS4 bundle too...bundling is a more important part of SCEE's strategy than any other region.

What? Why? Who said we like bundles, the units on their own sell far far more. Bundles don't do especially well here.

I understand this. But it's a gaming console first, or so I'm told. Making a movie bundle seems quite odd.. Do they put this bundle in the movies/players section of a store or the gaming section?

The second one is already available though. You get 3 free Blu-ray movies when you buy a PS3 here...

Anyhoo, an MGS bundle would be good. The GTP bundle is smart, people love that series and many are waiting for GT5 to buy a PS3.

obviously in the gaming section...but I see your point. Sony is having a hard time balancing its PR message re whether the PS3 is a game machine or a blu-ray player.

But ultimately that's not a disadvantage--that's an asset. Having just won the format war, you can't lose by branding your console as having dual functions

I still think they're pushing it too much. I liked their bundle that came with a game and a movie. That to me makes sense. But a 3 movie bundle with no games? Very odd..

Well if he said it, it must be true :roll:, as far as the UK goes bundles have only sold well when people had no other choice, because they couldn't get hold of a alone unit, the biggest offenders are those chain stores which literally force their own made bundles consisting of alone units that people want and random crap they want to sell. And they don't allow you to buy alone units during these periods, it should be illeagle.

Bundles on top of everything else is okay, cos then we can ignore them and get what we want, but its a dumb substitute for a better version of the console. That must come first.

I expected around this time they would have announced a better version for Europe to be released around the time they want to release these "bundles" of joy.

It looks like we might not get a better version until maybe mid year if not later.

Maybe they are trying to off load 40gig version. Maybe they produced more than sold at the Christmas period. They know it may not sell well if a better version is released and they would be left with a ton of 40 gig versions no one wants. Or maybe they are waiting until they can produce a better version that they could sell for a reasonable price. Because a better version would surely cost £350 and upwards or something. I don't know thats one or two theorys. Just opinions.

I just think they should sort it out, because it feels like a bit of a slap that we can't get a better version here.

Well no, people that are picking one up as a Blu Ray player first may find it inticing. But they look like quite the random selection of movies to me.

Sony probably realizes that some people buy the Ps3 primarly for a BD player. Which on the box is says movie package or something like that.

A console bundle with 3 movies and no games??? From a gamers perspective this is the end of the world....

What I want: PS3 Resident Evil 5 bundle with Dualshock 3... I wish Capcom would hurry up and finish that game already ;)

In my local gamestation they are right next to the PS3 games but in a separate section.
