Except: 1) Procedural content has a huge loading time when the algorithms are being generated into actual content 2) Specialized developers are needed to generated the content 3) Procedural content requires much more time to develop than traditional content .kkreiger is NOT feasible on a real game because of a) increased cost associated with hiring specialized programmers, b) increased cost due to increased development time, and c) increase processing power required to decode the encoded content. In other words, stop listening to BS spewed from Microsoft about content compression to fit onto a DVD. Higher storage is ALWAYS the better way to go. Blu-Ray definitely helps developers. To say otherwise is naive.

This does little to convince me that compression techniques are going to elminate the need for storage space. The reason Blu-Ray isn't needed is because digital distribution and falling hard drive / flash memory prices mean optical discs are becoming outdated. A game with epic load times for a single level, virtually no gameplay, and that just ruined my day by making me nauseous doesn't convince me.

Seriously, it's *awful* to look at, yeah I know, it's impressive for being 96k, but it gave me motion sickness, and by the time you add in all the textures, artistry, and physics (non existant, i got stuck in walls, walked through closed doors, and even the "explosive projectile launcher" weapons looked like there was nothing behind it but poorly written scripting... err well by the time you add in all the things that make it a game, and eliminate the compression techniques so that load times aren't insane, you'd be back to square one.

KKreiger is a piece of crap, and read the Read Me, they didn't even come up with these techniques that they used. Now I'm all motion sick, so I won't be able to play any more videogames today, thanks! Ugh.

I don't seee how this hurts the PS3 and helps the 360 in any major way. Ive seen alot of stupid fanboyism in here right down to someone making sure they only said it looked better then games ont eh wii and PS3. This technology is amazing and should be looked at as something that could benefit gaming as a whole. Quiet bickering over how tis gonna make your system "pwn" the other systems.

Roboblitz on XBLA and PC uses procedural generation. It's a real game, using UE3.
