Most people (including me) are holding off on the PS3 because of the price. I know the games will come, but the system is just to expensive. Even if they had 10AAAEs on the system it still ins't enough to justify the $600 price tag.WasdieAgreed. I'm not interested in Bluray - thus, the price isn't justifiable to me.
I completely disagree. I personally don't own the system because of it's lack of games that interest me, and because of it's pricetag. For me personally, Metal Gear Solid 4 makes the system entirely worth owning. So as soon as the price tag hits $300-400 I'll own one. Too bad I've got quite a long time to wait.DeactivationSounds a lot like you agree. Too pricey... not enough good games.

...and you would really pay 400 for an MGS4 machine? MGS4 is not worth 400 dollars, unless you like to be regularly disappointed.
I still dont think it will help them much right now. Looking ahead via the "New Releases" tab, there is a pretty slow period coming on. I just want to play my PS3 some more and enjoy HDMI...come on Sony, get some more games on the market.chumpion69i agree with u.. thats why i just bought a elite. i rented lost planet yesterday and wow im having a blast with it.imo its alot better then anything i played on my friends ps3n so far...

I don't see where you get the "disappointed" theory, but Metal Gear Solid is my favorite series in gaming, completely reason enough for me to own one. I know I'll buy other stuff, but MGS4 is prime reason enough to buy the thing.

I'm just saying that no console is worth buying for one game alone. If you like the MGS games, then more power to you. But it wouldn't be worth it to me. I would probably be a little disappointed.
That's all, meant no disrespect.
There are a few games coming up that may justify the price IMO. If some are like me that like sports games then the summer will definitely justify having a PS3. People seem to focus on the exclusives or lack there of for the PS3 but there are a lot of multi's coming out in the next few months that I will spend hours and hours playing. And I will be happy playing them on the PS3 because I know since its built well I will actually be able to play the game as long as i want. On the 360 i would have to worry about a hardware failure or a scratched disc and never finishing the game. Been there done that. cmat35The 360 hardware failure rate IS high... and it's too bad, because feature for feature the 360 is the way to go. I think if MS could release a more reliable model, they'd sell more units. Right now a lot of people are spending an extra $200 to play the games on reliable hardware, and that's a shame.

Even if there are a ton of great games the price is still a major issue. I can't justify it on top of the price I have to pay for games because it isn't just the system price. I have to take into account how many games will I buy in a year at $60 a pop new. Sure I can get used off of Amazon but how long will I have to wait. Things like this are taken under consideration when I look at the PS3. I want to play White Knight Story the most out of the PS3 games coming out but that is still a long way off and I guess I'll see what things are like by then.
I got a PS3 because I wanted all 3 next gen consoles. As far as the next few months is concerned, the only game that's whetted my appetite is a 4 year old Xbox port and Lair. I am really hoping Sony steps it up, and they still might, but for now I'm wishing I had that $600 back.donalbaneYou will get you palette soaked this september!
