Ever bought a system and instantly regretted it?

If I was tight on money (didn't have a lot to blow on consoles/games), I probably would have done a bunch of research as well. But then again, it's not like you can't sell the system back used.

him not liking the original xbox = him not liking videogames? what if he had a PS2 with 100 + games but it was the same situation: bought the XBOX for one game and ended up not liking it - yet owned a PS2 with a large library of games. since he didn't like the xbox, that would mean he doesn't like videogames? sounds logical to me.

how about taking age into account? I can remember 1 game I played on the genesis when I was a kid and that was the ren and stimpy game. I can't say that I enjoyed many other games as that was one of the only games I played.

but now, I own all 3 consoles, a gaming PC, and 100s of games. still doesn't make sense that me not liking the library available on one console means I don't like videogames. the xbox being 100 times better than both systems combined is an opinion - altho I'm sure a popular opinion. I don't think you understand how opinions work.

also, keep in mind that I didn't say that those were the only 2 good games on the console (like the other poster), but I simply bought the console for those games.

and then again, when you say "If your opinion believes this to be true, then yes, you may want to stop playing video games now." this is my opinion, but it doesn't make me want to stop playing video games. where's the logic in that?

Nope, i usually do my research and i've loved every single system i ever bougth.

Regretted Gameboy twice due to screen problems (hard to see, blurring). Finally could play Gameboy games with the Super Gameboy. Regretted the GBA because it was nearly impossible to see the screen. Brother gave me his GBC, so I don't regret it; but it too was hard to see. Nintendo finally got right with the DS. Other than that, I didn't like my Sega CD once I opened the package and played the crap they packaged in with the system. Most disappointing system ever.

I was disapointed with the Jaguar but Tempest 2000 made things a bit better.Arach666

As for me my most regrettable purchase was my PSP though it did provide me with Megaman Maverick Hunter X which is a surprisingly good remake of Megaman X (one of the best SNES games ever).

Beyond that it just collected dust. I tried to find games worth playing on it, but I'd also go right back to other systems. I think I could have used that $250 + 10-15 games worth of $$$ for something better.

PSP, and I do sort of regret buying a second Wii after my first Wii burned out. Neither was an instant regret though.

Well, it had the best versions of Road Rash, Star Control 2, Street Fighter, and Madden up to that point. I only paid $400 for mine. :lol:

My only regret was selling it because of a short-notice move. I wish I kept the thing.

The Gamecube, but that was before I played Metroid Prime and Resident Evil 4. Two of my all time favorites and I was happy I bought it after those.
