why hate on console games this much. do they really bother you that much? how could you possibly make a sports game non-casual (i really want to hear what you have to say) and worthless? Thats a nice opinion.lol sports and racers. as casual and worthless as they are, they are more games than movie-games Press A to win affair console kids have been shoveling into their mouths.Â

[QUOTE="Michael0134567"]SSX, what a disappointing. Instant Death Drops, such profound sadness. The boarding felt so good though. One of the best examples of something small crapping up an entire game.I only care for a few sports games, like SSX.

[QUOTE="cain006"]MLB the Show is more of a rehash the last few years than Madden has been. Still a better game but there haven't been many good improvements. Psh I'll admit that I've only played MLB The Show 11 I think for about 8 hours. My brother has a PS3 and I don't. The game was just so awesome I felt it deserved to be mentioned :PPeople who say all sports games are the same every year are idiots and obviously don't play them. Madden is pretty bad, but to say the same of MLB The Show and Fifa is just wrong.

Madden? For real? That is primarily a North American seller. There rest of the world isn't as interested in American Football. The sport game alliegence desides which console wins the sales war. If FIFA/Madden that many in this forum spit on, goes X1 exclusive the much more popular now PS4 will be doomed. Sony can pretty much throw all ps4s away....
So please before you spit on sports games pray that they dont leave your precious console.

It's the last few years that have made Madden seem like crap cuz it's primarily the same game from the previous year with roster updates. I haven't bought one since '09. I do, however, play NBA 2k and even that series has some issues found in Madden.Â
Â
THE DEVELOPERS REFUSE TO PROGRAM FIELD OF VISION. Defenders primarily play defense with their back to the ball and go for blind interceptions and steals. Plus the in game physics needs work. (But the most recent has shown a lot of improvement in that field).

More on topic, I personally think all genres are important as a gamer. I'm a huge fan of diversity. Sports, RPG's, Shooters, Platformers, etc. Â As long as the gameplay is good and provides some fun, I'm all for it. Â Yet, I don't think losing out on any genre would really doom a console so long as their is still a good volume of high quality titles.
Windmilling after scoring a goal in Fifa is the greatest feeling in the world.
This is why I like Fifa

Id probably purchase 1 or 2 sports games a year if they werent full price titles. yearly releases should be budget games.wolverine4262Yeah, I wait every 2-3 years to buy the next FIFA and NCAA football.
[QUOTE="Trail_Mix"] Sorry, sports games are just boring to me, most of the time. Typically I like to immerse myself in games that give me the opportunity to do things I wouldn't normally be able to do in real life. I mean, with sports games I can just go outside, gather some friends, and play. funsohngYou have to buy the equipment, get a proper venue, and hopefully get people who can actually play what you are going to play (that's minimum of 22 people for a game of soccer). Moreover, a lot of people who buy sports games are sometimes not at liberty to just "go out and play". They might not have the time, or they live in the city where it's pretty hard to find a decent place to play sports. Yeah, and I understand that. I was just speaking on behalf of myself. :P
I don't pick up sport games annually. Â Instead I wait a few years so that the improvements are massive.
I still own & play NBA 2k11, and I love the game. Â I did play 2k12 and 2k13, and actually find that the games didn't do much from a gameplay standpoint to improve the fun factor. Â
With that said I'm picking up 2k14. Â Mainly because LeBron is on the cover.
as has been stated many times, its sometimes not easy or in some cases not possible to play those sports in real life for that person.Im an avid follower of American football (follow the CFL,NCAA and the NFL throughout the season despite living in the UK) theres a bit of popularity sure and theres the London game but getting into playing the actual sport is pretty hard, especially working a full time job doing 2-10pm shifts Sun-Thursday i dont even see the games i crave i have to tape them. Sure i love playing five a side footy in my work's league on a Friday morning, but it never stops me from enjoying fifa with the same people i play with in someones house with a few cans of beer and its a good laugh. Primarily to me sports games are possibly the best split screen experiences next to fighting games you can get, nothing beats playing your mate at fifa and just massacaring them 6-0.I'd rather just play the sports in real life.

It's pretty much impossible to play baseball when you're an adult. You need 18 people and a field. eh hmmm do you not mean rounders, the game we play when we go to a caravan site...*shudders*[QUOTE="smashed_pinata"]
I'd rather just play the sports in real life.
