How about realizing that the team that makes the channels has nothing to do with making games, and stopping the channels wouldn't help at all in creating new games anyway?

realizing there are hundreds of other better features you can put your time and energy into online besides making a poll asking what is your favorite part about valentines day.

How about you STFU and realize that this is the only system currently implemented on ANY of the three consoles that allows the parent company to communicate directly with and receive accurate feedback from its userbase.

Ok, your right, parent company's have never gotten direct accurate feedback from its userbase on their thought about valentines day. Oh, but they have about important things such as what type of games you like, so you fail.

Bu bu, teh N1ntedo neva makes a mstake day are teh innovatorz! :o

You don't think much, do you?

Oh, I don't? What do you base this on? Seeing how humans in general are thinking every second of their lives, and I've been alive for fifteen damn years; I'd have to say I think quite a bit...

Fifteen years old, hm? I don't think I need to say anything else. That speaks for itself.

Well, I say there is nothing more for a stereo-typing idiot like you.

There's no need to stereotype. It's fact. Kids always think they have enough experience to comment on business decisions. I know I did. Until I grew up and actually got into the business. Yes, this business. Now I'm painfully aware of just how little I actually know, but I'm even more aware of how little kids like you think you know.

Business decisions? Listen it's simple: Wii is being wasted so far. It has so much potential, yet instead of Nintendo creating something useful like a demo channel, they create a voting channel? Btw, I have a 95.53 percent in AP Macro economics....

As if a SINGLE AP class is anything to brag about. You talk like that's some kind of accomplishment at fifteen years old. Besides, a high score in any AP or IB class is expected in any ranked college, so stuff the academic arrogance. That means absolutely nothing if you have no real-world work experience to back it up. Cite all the grades you want; they're all equally meaningless when you start talking about real life and not academics and in-class theory. And it's not simple. You are not looking at this from a company's perspective. You have no idea what purpose these different channels serve for Nintendo. And you do not see the value offered to both the consumer and Nintendo. You only see how a feature serves you, and that itself is fundamentally the wrong perspective when it comes to evaluating corporate decisions.

Thats why colleges look for the kids with the most academic rigour and best grades, right? Because they know a thing or two about the real world. And anyways, the console is a console for the people. I don't see how making a voting channel gets Nintendo anymore fans....

Colleges do not look at the same criteria as BUSINESSES, kid. A business will take a college drop-out with a year of impressive and relevant work experience over a college graduate with amazing grades but no experience any day.
And anyways, the console is a console for the people. I don't see how making a voting channel gets Nintendo anymore fans....hellzhitman
You don't see the purpose of the voting channel because once again you are still only looking at it AS A CUSTOMER. Try looking at it as a business, because one of the MOST IMPORTANT TOOLS a business must have is the ability to tell what their customer base likes and what they don't like. Companies spend MILLIONS on focus groups, scientific polls, and public trials, etc. just to gauge popular opinions so that they can tailor their products to better suit their target audience. You keep forgetting that Nintendo is a BUSINESS, and all businesses are self-serving. The customer exists only to give the business their money, but customers will only give businesses their money if the business provides something of worth to the customer. The voting channel, disguised as a simple gimmick, gives Nintendo a more direct and more immediate ability to keep even more closely in touch with their customers' opinions than their competitors. In contrast, what purpose does a demo channel serve? None whatsoever, except as advertising.

'Everybody Votes' is fun for about 5 seconds then feels completely worthless. I'm surprised they devoted resources to it. When I read the update message on my Wii I immediately pulled the ''wtf'' face. If they start asking for game idea's then I could see some value in it.

So you DON'T want to be able to communicate your opinion directly to Nintendo? What if they ask you for game ideas, what then? Still not a good idea?

Did you ever stop to think that this channel might yield polls about user preferences? Imagine Nintendo implementing results from polls. Would you have this or that in the next Mario game. Which game design was better, OOT or TP? Etc. Geez you people are shortsighted.

Wait till GDC. According to Matt C., we will see some serious info about new channels, demos, etc.
