Everything I said about LBP was a lie. There is only one PS3 game I care about

LittleBigPlanet looks kinda good kinda okay, but I'm as likely to buy a PS3 for LBP as Cows are likely to buy a Wii for Blast Works: Build Trade Destroy. Another AA quality oldschool genre game with an online trade community for customised levels.

The game that would make me want to buy a Playstation 3 is Heavy Rain. Quantic Dream. Nuff said. 8)

I thought Heavy Rain was multiplat?

I would assume that if you say LBP looks 'kinda okay' here it means that you really like the look of it. There's nothing wrong with that. It looks great.

So your sayign the only reason youd buy a ps3 is because of a trailer that shows a girl crying.

Yes, I totally understand where you are coming from.

Yeah the ending sucked but the gameplay was unpredidented and revolutionary for adventure games.

The reincarnation of the Adventure genre is in fact the next big thing after first person shooters go the way of the Dodo and the Platform game. Quote me on that.

It's the only genre that can mimic movie quality cinematics whilst providing intelligent gameplay.

Played adventure games since Kings Quest and The Secret of Monkey Island. I know Quantic Dreams technique. I know what to expect from Heavy Rain.

It's like how I'm also hyping Dragon Age. RPG fans know what to expect as it's a next-gen Bioware RPG with a D&D inspired setting.

Revolutionary, in the sense that they took out most of the puzzles and replaced them with dance-dance revolution?

The adventure genre isn't exactly dead - it's recently been gaining momentum on the PC, through digital distribution. Still, it's one of my favourite genres, so I guess that I have to support this game.

I'd probably agree, but Fahrenheit/Indigo Prophecy's gameplay was severely lacking in intelligence. There were only a handful of decent puzzles, between all of the QTE's and button-mashing sequences.

Published by Sony exclusive to PS3. Can't wait to see more of it.

Wasn't the game first shown on PC? I find it weird that it isn't multiplatform.

I recall Ageia making a big deal out of the demo using PhysX for the hair; they had the video in their example section, it is even on the physX list as PC.

It was initially planned for all platforms, but Sony are now publishing it, so it's PS3 exclusive.

Another Haze then, forced to be exclusive by a company desperate for some.

Regardless I don't know why people are making platform purchase decisions based on this game, we know next to nothing about it.

The button mashing bits where silly. I'm talking about the way the puzzles worked, which where really special. You have to admit.

Also this isn't Fahrenheit. The criticisms for that game must have reached Quantic Dream. The stuff they did right was also highly praised. I wouldn't be hyping Heavy Rain where it not excellent.

If that list is accurate then I'll be buying the PC version as I did with Fahrenheit.

When did Sony pay for Haze to be exclusive? Also please Microsoft does that 90% of the time.

I never said Sony paid for Haze, but a cross platform game suddenly becoming exclusive to the hardest to develop for platform out of all of them is suspicious.

I also did not say Microsoft doesn't do the same thing, they are probably worse for it.

Heavy Rain makes sense. It's a movie quality title and Sony are all about blurring the lines between High Definition Movie and Gaming this gen. They see the Playstation 3 audience as one that would buy a Bluray player but who would enjoy movie quality games like Heavy Rain.

What do you think is suspicious about it? Why would Sony publish a game if they didn't like it? They obviously think it's right for the platform otherwise they wouldn't go with it.

Okay, I was just wondering since the way you posted that sounded like you had knowledge of Sony actually paying for Haze since you said it was forced to be exclusive.

Are you sure you know what the word suspicion means? Because it sounds as though your confusing it with the world obvious.

Flamestos

Because we as gamers get screwed over for the companies benefit? By all means acquire exclusives 'in the background'; but don't take a game people are already looking forward to, knowing it is confirmed on their platform, and make it platform exclusive. That just makes the company look like a total dick.

Fanboys get off on the idea of their companies succeeding; gamers shouldn't mind if more people get to enjoy a game, especially when it was already announcement for a multiplatform release.

you know what the word suspicion means? Because it sounds as though your confusing it with the world obvious.

Tony-Harrison

Anything more certain sounding would have people taking offense and demanding sources *looks above*.

The better a game is looking and the more hype it recieves makes it even more important for a company to try and secure it as an exclusive.

This forum is full of fanboys who will love when their company gets an exclusive but dread it when their opposition does. See Cows and Lemmings with FF XIII.
