Theres an infinite amount of possibilities so it doesn't matter whether it already existed, because there is an infinite number of possibilties meaning the difference between fabricating an alternate universe and going to an already existing alternate universe is practically the same thing and the writers don't have to explain squat. Its a distinction without a difference.

Songbird may have found your Elizabeth but the Alternate Elizabeth was already Captured and waiting in Comstock House, so why was he looking for somebody who's already in custody in that specific timeline, explained in one of Booker's Voxophones in That Graveyard Bar I think, which means whether or not Songbird grabs Elizabeth, Booker is gona run into 2 Liz's in ComeStock House and I'm sure thats a scenario that Levine was trying to avoid or why kill off Alt Booker and move Alt Liz out of Monument Island to Comstock House in the 1st place ? So to avoid that scenario, whilst pursuing Song Bird you time travel into alternate version of Comstock House in the future. And you know the rest, Sounds Like the mother of All Deus Ex Machinas to me. Even worse than Shutter Island's "he was insane all along" Deus Ex Machina. "Quantum Physics" is way worse than "It was all A dream" or "He's/She's nuts" theres a reason they are universally recognized as Deus Ex Machinas, because when it comes to Dreams and Hallucinations they can do whatver they want and explain it away by saying the story was written in the context of a dream/hallucination ! Quantum Physics is no different and Levine Jumped on that 1st chance he got whether Elizabeth can or can't control her powers changes little to nothing, I mean if she could control them then she would just make a tear to the perfect universe where nothing goes wrong, infinite possibilities Remember ? And she would, being locked up in that tower has made her naive as hell so consequences be damned !.

Here is a plot hole, when Booker and Liz tear into the reality where Booker is a martyr and fails to save Elizabeth at Monument Island, who then is moved to Comstock House, how is Songbird after her if they already have her? shouldn't there be two Liz's? The only way out of this plot hole is a hand wave...the completely idiotic merge theory. Seems Levine doesn't think things through.

The problem of infinite is more hand waving, not deus ex machina. Its scotch tape plot with flimsy explanations for its most illogical aspects.

Builds should be well balanced wouldn't you say. It should be like President Evil 5's weapons, all differen't and unique and non inferior/superior to one another (mostly). Problem with adding Role Playing Elements to these games is they take the wrong combination of elements, the ability to craft a build and approach and resolve scenarios in multple ways is always a plus but the upgrading/leveling up is what causes these builds to be uneven/unbalanced. Theres also the level/enemy design aspect. Each build must have an Equal number of oppertunities to be used lest you wind up in a situation like Bioshock Infinite where you get Shock Jockey and no water or Undertow and now hazards to push your enemy into and baddies immune to Possession. If upgrades should be used then it would be more advantageous to go the Batman route where each upgrade adds an entirely new mechanic instead of just buffing the existing ones. Something that I thought was rare in the 90's which is why Ive been skepticle about System Shock 2

Uh I think it entirely depends. I think if a game wants to pitch certain builds as better, I get it.

But you are correct that those builds need to compliment the rest of the game in some sort of way. 99 mode showed that Bioshock Infinite does not compliment that kind of difficulty(it's doable obviously, but the game itself becomes compromised of everything it does well). So I don't think you should go in expecting some messiah, that usually ruins everything. But on a pure gameplay depth standpoint the Bioshock games aren't even close. They are shallow games in comparison.

There's a reason TLOU was universally proclaimed GOTY.

Bioshock Inf. uses the narrative trick of confusing both time and storyline to make it look philosophical. The Last of Us never needed to recur to this, but this is where the comparison between both games reaches already its logical end...

How much Bioshock sucks really stands out when you compare it to Deus Ex HR. The Last of Us is amazing, but a its a different genre.

Yes. Lets compare 2 games that have absolutely nothing at all in common what so ever. Maybe next time you can compare tetris and world of warcraft.

and the difference is.......ME3's ending, at least the extended cut fit with the themes of the game and the series. Bioshock infinite on the other hand, while structurally foreshadowing the ending pretty well, is a thematic disaster and the themes and characters lack the depth to pull such an ending off.

Tetris is way better than WOW, you can stack stuff, who doesn't want that ?

I'm just yanking your chain. ;)

but you could compare the BI and TLOU's narrative, they both tell stories right, so lets compare that.

Yep

TLOU does a lot better job than Infinite, and not only does the ending fit the story, I like how it references the prologue.

If it wasn't for some contrivances, TLOU would have been a complete masterpiece.

Matt Lees is terrible.

If you want a good analysis of both games:

I wouldn't call BioShock Infinite a masterpiece. I wouldn't call any BioShock a masterpiece. They were good. I never understood why people go batshit over them though. Infinite looked amazing; it had a very good art design and the environments were cool to look at while walking down that straight line, so it had that going for it.

Remember them water Graphics ? Kind of a big deal back in 2007. And its still a big deal now. Plus the is almost as devious as Batman, nothing beats hacking a security turret across the room and sandwiching splicers on the other side with a Drill.

How Bioshock Infinite told its story is much worse, telling a story through audiologs in a way that Bioshock Infinite did, is plain stupid. It works to a point for a ruined city....but not so here.

I know, but I could multitask, The Voxophone spews out some retared story and I can't loot the enviroment, or kill badies as its happening. I just don't like when the gameplay comes to a complete stand still when its time to deliver a story. Ofcourse Bioshock Infinites gameplay was a bit of a chore so maybe cutscenes being used as pit stops maybe favourable.

But me specifically, I hate'em.

Ofcourse The Last Of Us Story exelled. All the best video game stories rely on cutscenes :D.

As for the gameplay, The Infected suck. Zombies are just lazy ways to fill up a game when you're out of Ideas. And the game clearly uses a survival version of a positive feed back loop.

I thought The Last Of Us was great but I agree with your opinion about the infected! The fact that there were only 3 types was quite lazy and also they were too easy to kill!

How about admitting that Bioshock games are absolutely superb, and TLOU is a fantastic game in its own right?

Bioshock: Infinite and TLOU both got it all right for me. Two of my all time favourite games.

Bioshock Infinite was a better game then The Last of Us. No video or someone elses ramblings will change that for me.
