As bullshit as this all is, this is pretty much standard practice for publishers now. The best thing you can do now is not buy it. Let the pubs know just how much bullshit you're willing to take.

Coming from someone who's been boycotting EA for the last two years and yet they still increase their profit margins :]

Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate: 5 times the content.
Evolve: 3 times the price.

When you look at the price and what you get for it, comparing it to normal priced games makes it seem so bad that it's clear the publisher and marketing team of Evolve will reflect poorly on how much work the developer has actually put into the game. They are doing the developers a disservice. This game should have sold for $60 with all content included. And I am being sweet because $60 is already an elevated pricepoint for the PC market.

The heck, even though they don't force you to buy those cosmetic DLCs, they should have been unlockables. Isn't that how it is in COD? you gain level and unlock new skin for your guns?

I can see why some people are mad about it, but i don't regret pre-ordering a single bit.

I've never seen so much hate for games in my life. With The Order and now Evolve. Evolve is a great game and it's fun. The DLC is all cosmetic, you don't have to buy it at all, it's not needed cause it doesn't impact the game at all. You'll gamers right now are just babies cause you'll just sit around the internet just waiting for a chance to bash a game just to be heard. This is the reason why a lot of these smaller companies close cause people choose not to support them and then they go under. Then we are just left with the Ubisofts, Activision's and EA's of the world cause they are the only companies with the money and the staying power and we get yearly games like Assassin Creed's and COD and you'll still complain that your tired of those games smh. What the hell do you'll want, do you'll even know anymore? I bought Evolve and I'm enjoying it and guess what, I haven't bought any DLC for it. I'll get the 4 hunters and the monster when it comes out and I'll get the new maps and game modes cause they are free anyways. We gamers need to stop letting these stupid no name websites and even those big ones dictate what we buy cause in the end, the industry is losing great new companies cause we not supporting them and then we get fewer and fewer new IP's.

I would have bought the base game plus the monster DLC if the game had OFFLINE CO-OP. Seriously how the flack does this game not have OFFLINE CO-OP. So no I'm not buying.

I got the base game for Evolve because I had a ton of credit left at a local store, and I enjoyed the Beta. The game is a lot of fun, but aside from some "free" skins that came on a code with the game, there is no way in hell I'm touching the DLC. That said it's only cosmetic anyway so I don't see why everyone's getting so worked up about it. At least the content that matters, aka the maps, will all be free for the game.

Best online game I've played in years. You do not need to buy any of the DLC, it is mostly cosmetic stuff. IGN review (9) pretty much hits the nail on the head, I agree with pretty much everything they said in their text review.

Decided not to buy it once I found out it only has 3 monsters and they plan to make you buy the others.. It's Destiny all over again.

can we fix this title? first off, they are just skins. besides that, its not 130 dollars, it was a mess up on a polygon article. its like 70 something if you buy separately or like 60 something if you buy it in bundles. and polygon for some dumb reason added those 2 numbers together. So no it doesn't have 130 in DLC, its 60-70 in DLC depending on if you buy separately or in bundles and none of it really effects the game.

Destiny had a quality problem, not a content problem.

@JangoWuzHere: Lol um no it had a content problem. The story was essentially striped out for you to discover on your own Via there website as opposed to putting it in the actual game. Cutscenes from the trailer showing the campaign mode were mysteriously absent when the game shipped, so it could be purchased via DLC. The game mechanics of Destiny were actually very well done.

No, it had a quality problem. Who cares about future DLC when the main game is so poor? Lackluster RPG elements, terrible mission design, little weapon variety, repetitve action, generic multiplayer, etc.

I played through all of content in Destiny besides the raid and had absolutely no desire to play more of it. I don't care how many missions they add to the game later on, it is a fundamentally flawed game.

Why do people freak out so much over optional content that they aren't going to buy anyway? You can still enjoy the main game.

I'm enjoying the game more than I thought I would. I don't care about skins, you cant really see them with everything that's going on anyways. I like the TLOU DLC method of giving free maps and charge for taunts and guns where you buy a pack or just pick and choose what you want.

What has me worried is the character DLC prices. I'm not paying $15. Can't help but think that the eventual GOTY version with all the characters will be the smart choice. It'll probably have the skins too if you care about that.

The main reason to keep the game is the free DLC maps, because the ones on there now are very good so I can't wait to see what they come up with next.

Evolve lacks a lot in terms of its gameplay i wont be picking it up for that simple fact
