Its a way backward as there will be less competition and thus the quality of our games will go way down. Having multiple platforms is the best thing that can happen in gaming.

your post makes little sense. if all games were released in one platform then how does that decrease competition? no it increases competition. games like halo3 and kill zone2 and crysis will compete directly! so the quality would in fact increase!

you misunderstood my point. imo The PC is the best platform for gamers. because it's an open platform. there's no one mandatory hardware configuration. if all games were made to that system then it would be the best thing for us gamers. instead we have games split up in to different consoles because different consoles want to gain a monopoly on the industry. this is what's essentially killing gaming.
