Best RPG ever? No, not by any means. But is it a magical experience that will make you laugh, cry and gasp? Absolutely, if you haven't already guessed I absolutely loved this game. And *heres* to Fable III.

It's barely an rpg but if you must label it as one it's not even the best rpg on the 360. That would go to Mass Effect.

Fable 2 is just an incredibly simple, incredibly easy yet pretty action adventure game with some minor rpg elements. Calling it the best rpg ever is a slap in the face to true rpgs like Baldur's Gate and the Fallout series.

I doubt you have played Fable 2 then if you just call it a action adventure game with some minor RPG elements. Fable 2 is easily very deep with it's characteer development that changes depending on every move you make! Look at Fallout 3, that's what I would call a shooter with an automated shooting system while Baldur's Gate has horrible graphics.

Hahaha. The story is very short (8 hours or so) and not inspiring or interesting. Running feels totally broken and graphics don't look good at all outside of the town.

Fable 2 doesn't even belong in the top 30 best RPGs. There's many many RPGs that surpass it in terms of quality.

I wouldnt say that, but it is a fantastic game. A 9.0 for me, the story lets the game down a little i think, but other than that it was great.

KOTOR

KOTOR II

Morrowind

I said RPG, not action adventure game. KOTOR and KOTOR II seem to be more about fighting than character development. While Morrowwind is absolutely horrible and you cannot get stuck into it at all, it feels like a deeper version of Obilivion which is just a bland dungeon crawler.

The Bloodstone Demon Door does enough to show off Fable II's wonder. You can own anything, you can play as you will. So if the game is only 8 hours for one playthrough than it is 24 hours if you are to experience all 3 endings.

Perhaps you could expand on your statement.

KOTOR Uses D&D 3.0 rules (maybe its 3.5).

KOTOR has a huge amount of character development also.

Morrowind is also a Role Playing Game.

You also use skills to get experience points so you can level up.

I disagree entirely, I've hated the Fable games. Persona 3, Valkyria Chronicles, Skies of Arcadia, Grandia and Fallout 3 are far better RPGs in my opinion.

I know you're trolling but I'm bored so I'll bite. You obviously have only played one rpg in your life, and that's Fable 2. If I was in your situation I'd agree it's the best RPG ever, just like it'd be the worst.

Knights of the Old Republic is the definition a Role Playing Game. You play the role of an abandoned Jedi who has the power and destiny to shape him/herself along with all those you meet interact with. An incredibly engrossing story. Play how you will, and have your decisions actually mean something.

The game isn't that good. Yes the graphics are good, but really there's just not a lot of content after the story. There's nothing drawing me back into the game. Unlike Oblivion, there are no guilds to enter or anything like that. Also, the combat and spells were really shallow. There was barely any categories to level up in, far to few.

The running doesn't feel natural at all. You'll eventually get used to it but the running feels similar to socom for some reason.. which is not a good thing seeing as how socom's running wasn't that bad seeing as how it was a shooter.

In the town the graphics were good with decent textures (not much bump mapping, but that's alright) but outside of it, it didn't look very good. Grassy areas barely had an grass as most of it was just flat green and textures were average.

Maybe i'm nit picking on the graphics but the running animation definitely IMO doesn't feel natural.

Yes but where is the imagination? The whole KOTOR universe is based of Star Wars, it's nothing new and been re-used many times, I am talking about fresh new RPGs.

Its barely based off of starwars.

It takes place like 4000 years before the plot of the movies.

You have no desire to experience the other 2 endings? Experience how the game plays, how people percieve you when you are, say you were good and pure in one playthrough, good and corrupt? Evil and pure? Evil and corrupt? I personally am very interested in being good but corrupt. Will I choose many? Or will I choose only myself?

The ability to corrupt or purify your teamates is a truly amazing mechanic. To have someone go from saying that "Killing is wrong" to "He deserved it" is a powerfull experience.

There wasn't as much emphasis on the whole good-evil part of the gameplay as much as Fable 1, it's hard to go back and play just for that. :/

Well as far as I am concern Knight of the Old Republic is far better than Fable 2 in almost all aspect. There is so many option in KOTOR that gives you that feeling of total control of the gaming experience. Anyway how can you say Kotor is not role playing while proclaim that both MGSIV and GTAIV are? Even if Star Wars are used alot, it still doesn't defeat the fact that Kotor isn't an rpg.

I would rather play Fallout 3. Take Morrowind, remove all the technical issues that weighed it down, and give it an awesome setting. Fallout 3 is the best modern RPG. Fable 2 is just a good action/adventure/RPG, definitely not a great RPG.

Are you kidding me? There's got to be hundreds of them that people can name. I haven't played Fable 2 myself so can't comment on the game itself but when there are RPG's out there like the entire Final Fantasy series, most Zelda games, Fallout 3, Mass Effect, Chrono Trigger, Chrono Cross, Morrowind, Oblivion, Secret of Mana and many more it's a tough claim your making. At the end of the day though it's your own opinion, but it looks as though you might need to play more games under that genre.

P.S. Since when was MGS4 classed as an RPG...:?

Fable 2 is an enormous load of poorly designed garbage.

Its world is tiny, maddeningly restrictive, and boring, its story is flat-out idiotic bull ****, to a degree rarely seen even in this industry, its core mechanics are horrible, its character building sucks ass, and allows you to be a jack of all trades (which doesn't really matter I suppose, when your entire goddamn skillset only relates to combat), the game doesn't really have multiple ways to play through it, aside from a few branching quests and the ending, which takes the whole ME philosophy of "implied decisions are bad" to another level altogether, "teh hughe decisions!!1!" are few, far between, and poorly implemented, the quest design is godawful, and, to top it all off, it's loaded with technical problems, from pop-up and bad animations, to glitches out the ass.

Fable 2 fails miserably, not only as an RPG, but as a game, in general, and you calling it "the best RPG ever" would be ****ing hilarious if it were not so sadly indicative of the state of the genre.

Honestly, I would reccomend skipping it altogether, but if you simply must play it, just rent it.

There isn't all that much content; I was able to clear everything the game had to offer me in just a few days, and I was playing several other games at the time.
