Wow the first one was suppose to be the best RPG ever. Now the second one is suppose to be the Best game ever.
Whoo man did that one fly over my head... Oh wait. They're serious? :|
Can't wait to see this.

[QUOTE="-Spock-"]A bigger team and more funding doesn't mean **** if they keep making impossible promises like this. They also have some utterly ridiculous gameplay ideas, like being "scarred" instead of actually dying, and that over-hyped dog which is said to be "the most realistic animal ever featured in a videogame" (honestly, a random chicken in Crysis has better AI and much more realistic behavior). Forza_2
First, a bigger team and more funding doesn't mean anything ? Riiiight...
Second, they didn't say it's going to be the best game ever. They're just aiming for it.
...."if they keep making impossible promises like this". It's all fine and dandy having more people and more money if they're going to use that talent to fulfill the empty promises of the first game, but it's frankly a waste if they're going to set the bar even higher and once again miss it. Don't run before you can walk, don't take seconds before you've finished your firsts, etc. etc. is what i'm trying to say.
FlopCortana_Halo32
Exactly. Fable 1 anyone? Lionhead just don't learn though. They're too ambitious for their own good.
Why would they dare call it the greatest game ever? Haven't they learned from the first time? SaintBlaze
Attempting to make the best game ever is a little different from claiming it is the best game ever. If only Factor 5 had attempted it instead of relying on looks :?
dont care...i may have joined the fable bandwagon after promises were made, but i think the game will be great.
Peter needs to learn to keep his mouth shut and not make such claims cause that's what got him in trouble with Fable. I have a feeling this is going to be Fable all over again.
So how does that saying go? Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.
did peter learn ANYTHING from last time? lemmings..please dont hype fable2..lawlessx
Why not? Fable 1 was excellent.
It's going to kill Final Fantasy..
..again.
Finale-
lol so many games killing final fantasy these day...first blue dragon, now this...tetsuya nomura's gonna have to start looking for a job soon eh?

What's ironic about it?
Read what I underlined and italicized and think about a certain PS3 game thats being hyped by cows.
LOL i can't believe you tried to make a link there.
The difference between killzone 2 and fable 2, is that in game Killzone 2 actually looks good and by the sounds of it plays good. Peter molyneux spends most of his time trying to convince us to fall in love with dogs instead of bolstering two key facets of the game that should be the stand out part of an rpg experience: characters and story. Don't you remember how absymally cliched and unbearable the first fable was? Why isn't molyneux trying to convince us (with details) that this time they'll bother making an absorbing story?
"One button attack system?""less is more?" Never try to big up and rpg using that kinda lingo.
fable (or project ego as it was called) had me more hyped than any other game around the time it was released. The kinda things they promised were ridiculous; theyfell short of about 80% ofwhat they promised, and made one of the most shallow games in terms of gameplay and story. How can a dev release such a godawful rpg after greats like Baldurs?
Now at least with Guerilla they're showing the goods.

killzone is an FPS. practically every single FPS's storyline is cliche. People play fps's for atomsphere, tension, and speed Not really story. ImoA truly absorbing narrative with multi-faceted characters can't work in a solely first person perspective. the framing and juxtapositioning of Shots (usually in cutscenes.) tell us what to think about a moment. trying to convey everything in FPS will never ever work, until something like VR.
Seriously i myself was hyped for fable 2, until he went on and on and on about love. he wants to make us feel love for the dog. i understand where he's going but i can tell he's putting to much attention on these elements which will annoy us later on because evreything else is shallow.

It wasn't the best RPG ever made, but it was still a great game. I really enjoyed it.I really thought Fable was one of the most over-hyped games of last generation, and it ended up deserving a 7.5. That being said, the new stuff on Fable 2 makes it seem like a much more interesting game. I'd say 8.0-8.5 right now.
Molyneux's team really needs to ST*U sometimes. Saying that it is going to be better looking than anything we've ever seen before, that it will have better water effects than Bioshock, etc. etc. It's just crazy to talk about it all like this. Based on the videos, it doesn't look that much better than Fable 1, which was pretty amazing looking for an Xbox game.

You know what the real difference is? Fable was a great game, despite its shortcomings. Killzone flat out sucked.killzone is an FPS. practically every single FPS's storyline is cliche. the dog was just an example of feeling loved in the game;like if u killed a boss like character and go to town, ppl would be like"thanks for killing that dragon your the best!!"..kind of like how lightning strikes show how it can effect the things around it in killzone..just because its not a heavy go-getta feature like that doesnt mean it wont be a good one,

have you read the killzone game informer interview?the devs also made killzone liberation :)
molyneux hasn't proved or even hinted that Fable 2 will have interesting charactersor an immersive plot.
this is coming from a guy who was ridiculously hyped for fable and fable 2(when the teaser was shown).
i've given up on WRPGS aside from bioware
once again please watch the unbearably cringeworthy performances by molynuex trying to sell fable.
I know when he's talking about love it isn't just with the dog i played fable 1, i know where he's going. But you saw how rudimentary that was. Obviously it'll be upgraded but why not show us demo of this? show us 10 mins of life in a town.Show us a day in the life of a hero; his family, comrades etc...why not give us an idea of the concept of the game? i.e. metal gear solid 4is about stoping liquid ocelot from creating outer heaven; or endless war
has he confirmed you can customize your character appearance? facial features, skin tone, height, weight? in a game like fable that has no developed protagonist detailed character customization should be a given.

killzone 2 was a tactical shooter and didnt score above the first fable.
last time i checked,Fable 2 isnt coming out anytime this year,so the rest of 07 and 08 still holds alot of news on the game that will hopefully change ur mind.
come on,does a couple of game critics that thought the fight system was good not change ur mind about it?there was a video about the dog too incase u didnt see it.like i said before,at the moment they are introducing the main elements that will make the game...theyll give u the rundown on anything else on the game once the topics are cleared.
like i said in the paragraph above..the future holds many truths..
Hope they can keep up with their hype this time.
Btw Halo 3 and Crysis have topped Bioshock's water effects.

ok let me tell you a little something about Molyneux.
He's a great designer, he's got creative ideas, knows how to design a unique game, and is really revolutionary with each game he creates.
He does have a few problems though. The first is how he talks to the press. He loves to talk about his ideas, he'll go on forever and ever just running through ideas he has for a game. The problem is the rewards/cost ratio of so many of these ideas is so bad they get dumped pretty early on in development. This is also sort of the reason he's an ICON in the gaming industry since almost everybody who's anybody has had an amazing talk w/ Peter he's seriously the most social game designer to date, not to mentioned he's very well liked by everybody. The second problem is he's pretty ambitious with his projects which often tend to leave them with really long production cycles which is very very dangerous in an industry that is constantly moving. Most of the time Peter gets by with this only because his games are so unique that you'd have to be working with him to make something even remotely close.
I figure Fable 2 will either end up Fable: Forever, or be just slightly better than the first (but just as disappointing).
