Which will have better gameplay and non-linear gameply, which will have better graphics.

I feel Fable 2 will under-deliver. Peter Molyneux promised not to over-promise... he lied.... again...
Final Fantasy XIII, although not to some classical JRPG purist's tastes, will probably be a better experience which will ultimately deliver. The art style is very clean and, dare I say, sexy.
Graphics=FF13
Gameplay=well i know FF13 is absolute trash so I assume Fable is slightly better if Lionhead have something to do with it.
I can't choose. Fable and Final Fantasy are 2 of my favorite gaming franchises. :(BioShockOwnz
I just borrowed someone's Xbox today at church, I'm going to be playing the RPGs I missed cause I only owned a PS2. He's got Fable, KOTOR 1 and 2, Jade Empire, and Morrowind.

They haven't said anything about FF13's battle system so how do you know?

Two Worlds must really suck..because that is the only game you said you didn't like. Well atleast from what I see.
I just don't usually talk about games I dislike, so therefore that's why I seem pretty positive towards a lot of games. Two Worlds suckage level was so high that I couldn't help but flame it though, lol.

Yup, the OG Xbox was great for WRPG's, but not for JRPG's. I'm glad that has changed to an extent with the Xbox 360. Anyways, you should give Breakdown, Phantom Dust, and Shenmue 2 a try. They are all super cheap used and very good games.

Is Shenmue 2 sold in stores still? Would I have to play the first?

The battle system for Final Fantasy XIII will be very different than most other Final Fantasy games in the everlasting series. According to Kitase, he says that people will say "Is this really FF?" when they play the game. However many traditional elements will be used for battles.
"The battles will be of Advent Children quality. If you have ever seen Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children, then you will know that each battle in the movie is spectacular. Well FFXIII will have similar types of battles, with multiple camera angles and fast paced action. If at the time of a battle you are riding a bike, you will be able to use it in battle to help defeat the monsters.
The fluidity of battles will be apparent concidering that you will be able to chain you attacks one after another as if it were a constant limit break, which also means that animation for attacks will be different virtually every time you attack.
To get an idea of the array of combinations you could do is that you could choose a simple 'slash' attack or a run and slash attack. Mixing magics with these attacks can also be done. It doesn't take long to see that the variety of attacks is extremely customizable"

Yup. I just picked up a complete copy of Shenmue 2 at Gamestop for $4.99 used. It comes with a DVD that gives you the story of Shenmue, so there is no need to play Shenmue before jumping into Shenmue II.

they haven't even gone into detail about the gameplay aspects of summons(we do know that the characters will have relationships with them), or the specifics of controlling up to three characters in a party with that insane camera system.
ages ago they mentioned wanting to utilize the sixaxis controls for vehicles. They showed a wipeout-esque low rider that'll probably be usable. for some reason i'm expecting a gta type world view now.
i have absolutely no idea how they're gonna pull all this off
I can't wait to play Fable 2 with it's unfathomable 1 button combat system, with depth unseen in your common RPG comparable to that Virtua Fighter. Game of the generation? No my friend, game of the Decade is a sure thing. Guaranteed.
With Fable, Lionhead changed console gaming forever. Fable 2 will change us forever.
It's clear to see that none of you can understand Molyneux's divine and artistic vision, unwavering ambition to create the most flawless game ever. How many games can you mention with Superior CANINE A.I.? None. You are incapable, and will be incapable of the sophisticated narrative that will undoubtedly be presented to us REAL gamers.
Lolz don't kill me.
To be OT: I never really enjoyed the first Fable, it fell short of all my expectations especially with peopel telling me it's the greatest RPG ever *insert-rolleyes here*.
I've enjoyed almost all of the Final Fantasy's that I've played and FFXIII looks to have an somewhat interesting story.
From what little we know. Hopefully there will be some great character development to go along with it and some interesting gameplay.
inertk
LOL
FF graphics are better but Fable has better gameplay IMOsonofabear17
one button?
to be fair there was something very awesome about the simplicity offable, problem was that eventually you were pretty much godlike and everything got boring. So weremedythat with one-button action system?
in terms of depth FFXIII will most definitely be superior; gameplay and story
in terms of graphics we'll have to wait and see about that one; it could go either way.
