Fable coming back

Never played even the first Fable despite having owned it on Steam for years.

Not sure if I want to either considering what I've heard about the games. Even when I saw Fable 3 (I think?) being played by a friend it looked pretty boring.

Can't wait. Loved all the Fable games despite their flaws.

Perfect timing for the next generation Xbox. Fable will either be a launch game or come out a year after the new hardware.

The bad news for Fable will be, it'll be competing with The Elder Scrolls VI.

who said it was? The article in the OP states that Microsoft drew inspiration from Horizon so yes thanks GG and Sony.. Sony doing more for Xbox gamers than Microsoft

Fable 3 is by far the worst of the series so you should not judge based off of that one. The original Fable was fun, for it's time at least; I haven't played it since it was first released so I'm not sure how well it has held up, but I'm certain that it is still way better than the crappy third one.

Best variety my ass! Like one game with no official release date can tip the spectrum. They better make it a multiplat because RPG's tend to flop on Xbox

Cool most likely PC exclusive, because XBOX is on its last legs as a dedicated console, after the massive flop that is the XBONE. No way will Microsoft want to face another complete humiliation trying to compete with Sony and Nintendo.

I've only played Fable 2 and 3, everyone seems to agree that 1 was the best.

I hope they re-imagine it completely but still keep the Fable feel. And fix the damn animations and hit detection.

Anyway, I'm just saying, they've had many opportunities to bring Fable back and they shut them down (literally), despite people wanting it. Lionhead Studios is shut down. And Peter Molyneux works at the might-as-well-be defunct 22Cans wasting time and money and hope on Godus.

Even *if* Fable comes back, it won't be the same game we fell in love with. Which is why I said we should not wait for it.

Thanks to Horzion 0 dawn that this franchise is back ? fable 1 & 2 have some of my best memories. This franchise a lone Would convince me to buy an Xb1x, but then I just remembered that it will be on the pc, so I just saved myself 500 bucks.

If they could capture what made the original Fable great again. I'd actually have a reason to buy a used X1 :p

Let's hope not as that series was trash and was the poster child for taking something that was ok and had some potential and dumbing it down into nothingness. Overly simplified combat. Let's talk to every NPC, none of which have anything to do with gameplay, let's get married for no purpose, etc. Garbage series.

And they aren't using any previous assets. So why bother connecting something completely new to that terrible brand? Even if you are on the side that liked Fable and believed it had potential to carry-on, you should realize that the brand is polarizing. Hence it is better to create a new vision with a new brand.

Come on MS create a great game and it will sell. Recycling mediocrity, even if it is just the name, would be dumb.

I don't wait for any game. Cyberpunk 2077 is a game I am excited for but I shit sure haven't been waiting for it. I'm playing other games.

As I said before, we in the gaming community like to post and some believe we know better when it comes to the business of gaming. Shutting Lionhead may have been the write off for cap loss MSFT needed at the time and now they are willing to put cap behind a Fable game. There is so much big corporate money movement that goes on and the gaming divisions are a part of it.

@cainetao11: that's pretty much my point about waiting for the second coming of jesus. Most people should know they shouldn't wait for it, and those few nutjobs that think it is coming soon should know better. Same with games.

Get busy doing other things while you wait, and don't expect anything on time (as far as gaming goes). When the game has gone gold, then you can start anticipating.
