Fable III - Why It Fails

Yay for opinions. All I know is that I am thoroughly enjoying exploring a beautiful world with a wonderful atmosphere, while amassing a fortune and becoming the scourge of Albion on my way to becoming king. I guess having fun in a beautiful world that is filled with things to do is about all I was expecting, though. I'll leave the nit-picking to the jaded hordes who are so fond of over-analyzing a game instead of appreciating a game for what it is at the core and what positives that it does bring to the table.

Let them have at it while they pick games apart like they should all be more complex than they really have to be in order to simply be fun. Let them go ahead and find flaws in every blade of grass, texture and framerate drop. Let them harp on about the simplicity of gameplay, as if a game has to be difficult in order to qualify as being good or fun.

As for myself, I just want fun and entertainment. Something that this series provides in spades for me. For some of us, the basic fundamentals of simply making a game fun and atmospheric with loads to do is more than enough. Love or hate Fable, at least it is doing it's own thing and totally has it's own unique vibe. Maybe if they turned it into a FPS it would be praised more. LOL, whatever. To each their own, I guess.

why not do it now, i can take a picture and upload it onto the internet in literally 3 minutes, and i use the old, cellphone-usb method

Yea I'm gonna hike 5 miles to my only friend's house to take a picture of his 360 just to prove to some random Emma Watson fan that I have a 360:D. I'm not currently in the household where my video games are, otherwise I'd be playing them rather than discussing them.

I agree Fable fails, but it's still just an opinion.

If you want to take random opinions thenI have several opinions about Uncharted and MGS4 that you may be interested in. Neither of them are very positive either.

wow, but this is SW and people like to bash eachother with how GS ranks games as their opinions are handed down from above. IF only such sentiments were given to PS3 games that did not fair as well...

It clearly flopped in expectations, you know I was looking forward to it on PC. Until I realised that the game would be gimped due to 360 development.
This just like Alan Wake where moving a game from the superior platform to a platform using 2005 hardware.
It's like moving downgrading your show from a Cirque du Soleil-event to a kindergarten birthday.

But lems will be content with it, and I honestly can't blaim them since GeOW 3 is delayed an entire year...
But for how long...?

fable 3 seems to be aimed more at people who actually LIKED the first two. i'm alright with that, because I loved the second one.

Yep, I'm at home where I only have a Wii, at my dads where I stay most of the time I have a PS3 and 360, I'm sorry if you guys don't believe me but like I said I have nothing to gain from lying, and like I said ask me anything about Reach, Gears, Alan Wake and I'll answer now.Booo-Urns

This just in: Most of us who are playing the game are loving it and don't really care that there are some reviews on the lower end. Anyone who's actually played the game knows that it actually moved forward from Fable II, not backward.

it's pretty good game and i have had a blast with it.

maybe because i don't define my worth as a person by how "hardcore" the games i play are.

I agree 100% but that will not help here... people in droves will just look at a score and thats it. They will not even read the review ... it would mean going beyond their comfort zone. ITs easier to just look at a score and bash a game for it, or praise it for that matter due to its high score.

Why should I lower my expectations? I'm spending my money ...I shouldnt have to settle for what passes for quality nowadays.

How absurd. To bash a game a game based on flaws, you need to have experianced them yourself. What a reviewer percieves a flaw isn't going to apply to everyone.

Ratchet and Clank was said to have "too much variety" is that really a flaw?

Kevin V tells me MGS4 story is a pro. I think otherwise.

Sure. The fact of the matter is that you dont have a 360, and no one will take you seriously when you bash anything 360 related
