According to alpha testers, this is only one of many reasons that the game is going to suck. Open beta coming spring 2016.

I actually have been in the beta since it started and the game is finally starting to shape into something worth playing. In the beginning it wasnt that great it was basically Dungeonland with good graphics, but they've fleshed it out a lot in the last couple of patches. Fleshed out the quest hub and added the fourth ultimate ability and added a number of characters.

Its no system seller game but its free and fun in co-op. I mostly play the villain which is more like playing an RTS game which is kind of a unique dynamic.

I think the most interesting thing about it are the boss fights. They've added a number of bosses to the different maps and its almost like playing a 5 man dungeon in WoW but having an actually player controlling the mobs and the bosses. So its kinda fun.

People are expecting it to be Fable but its not an RPG its a co-op arena combat game. If they keep added characters and maps for free it'll do alright. Currently the different characters have a lot of variety and I'm not a graphics wh0re but the game does actually look great with the Unreal 4 Engine.

Yeah this game is graphics king at the moment. I'm in the Beta as well and it's stunning.

This is disgusting, why would you ever want to play Fable Legends after seeing this?

Not necessarily directed at this game since pricing here seems par for the course, but calling em "micro"-transactions doesn't make em appear any cheaper. I miss when the term was applied to little shitty mobile games that charged 50 cents for continues or more game time; nothing micro about little packages of ingame currency that cost more than many steam sale priced full games.

@magicalclick: Bam I was right, you need Gold to play Fable Legends. So, it costs $9.99 a month to play this "free to play " game on XB1.

I'm not sure how this is different from all the "free games" that come with PS+ and XBL? (Not defending this, but saying this from other console users point of view)

I see you've never played a F2P game huh, ALL F2P game have pricing structures like this, I mean you getting the game for free so where do you think they'll make up their money lol. This isn't charity, it's gaming and if you playing the game for free at least you can pay something to the developers for their work and effort, or are you just like these whiny, entitled gamers nowadays that want any and everything for free?

Free-to-play (with xbl gold) games always do this. Give free content and cover costs with Microtransactions.

I only take issue with a game like Black Ops3. Full retail game $60 bucks, season pass $50, and now microtransactions. Get rid of the freaking season pass and make the maps free and just bank off of microtransactions. Just getting tired of season passes and maps being locked behind it, when the maps should be free(fragmenting players). Rainbow Six Seige did it the right way.

I've played beta for a bit as a sorceress and my beef was the slow ability recharge rate. I'm not sure if it was related to the low level of my character, its class or demanding some currency to accelerate progression in this aspect. Hopefully not the latter.

Do melee and archer classes also have such lenghty cooldowns / abilities which drain your energy meter so quickly?

Nope.

There is no Fable 4. Lionhead studio already confirm that 3 months ago that it was never in development. Fable Legends doesn't count as the 4th main game series.

Played in the beta and it sucks and looks like it will get old fast. RIP Fable. I'm not even going to download the full game it's just that awful.

Even if the game didnt have Microtransactions, it would still be a Fable game.
