Nintendo have been around long enough for any gamer to have acquired respectable adoration for Nintendo's gaming. Honestly the Gamecube was not too hot by Nintendo's standards, and look how the newbies are coming out in there droves. Embarrassingly.

No, there is some good room for debate. For example the point made about Sega fans.

If you grew up from the NES/SNES like me, and compare and see what Nintendo has now become, you'd have plenty of reasons to insult Nintendo.

Nice point raised.

However Nintendo have successfully released the expected three sequels within the first twelve months, and one of them is a heavyweight contender for 2007 GOTY against equally heavy competition.

Secondly having released Metroid, Zelda, and Mario already, Nintendo are now free to develop any new projects they desire without being harassed by serious sheep bleating for more Mario.

NES and SNES where not good exclusively for Mario, Zelda, and Metroid. Look at the DS with Dragon Sword, Conta 4, as well as a host of new titles.

Having successfully appeased the fans within twelve months I would argue Nintendo has left themselves a lot of room for expanding their development projects.

BTW, the TC brings up a point that I've observed many times over the years: it's not always a kid who insults Nintendo, but usually it is.

About you second Fact, totally agree. Please kids and teens, just because you got a PS2 in the 2004, dosen't mean that Sony invented the industry. (i'm not saying that Nintendo invented the videogames, buy they clearly put them on the map again)

Third party does not possess finite ownership. You cannot pre-judge the Wii on these grounds. Especially since developers like Sega are bringing NiGHTS and Decent Sonic games to Wii.

Wind Waker on both the GCN and the DS is annoying and highly overrated game. I don't like sneaking, I don't like touch screen usage. Nintendo sucked at making those games.

Actually when I look at this list it makes me really want a wii right now.

I'm a teenager, so we'll just get that out of the way...

I love my NES, SNES, N64 and my Gamecube...but I realised recently I loved them for games like Banjo Kazooie, Street Fighter 2, Perfect Dark, Goldeneye, Resident Evil 4 etc, not Nintendo's own games. While I respect them as developer's for the contributions they've made to gaming, their games have lots of problems that seem to go unnoticed and uncriticized simply because they're Nintendo. I find anything bar Link's Awakening and A Link to the Past in the Zelda series to be utter rubbish. I end up turning off the game as soon as I'm low on health simply because of that annoying beeping noise. A problem that has dogged the series since the beginings.

I feel the same way about Mario 64 and any 3D Mario game. I just cannot stand them (although I have yet to play Galaxy).

I know I'll get flamed heaps for this, but damnit, Nintendo just aren't that great anymore. They're stubborn and refuse to fix the problems that plague their games.

It only takes one person to prove you wrong: An adult or teenager who does not like videogames. Videogames will not appeal to this person (making it not universal) and they can even say videogames, even by Nintendo, are a waste of time.

I myself insult Nintendo products like Wii Play, those brain games, Nintendogs, and pretty much any other game that only a non-gamer/casual would play. I use to hold a lot of respect for Nintendo but ever since they went into this "screw the hardcores lets cater to the casuals to make $$$$" attitude a lot of my respect was lost.
