I never would have thought it to be true. Everyone (myself included) has been saying that 2007 could be the bestgame lineup for the industry in years... maybe as good as 1997, 1998 or 2001. Now I am not so sure. Sofar I see almost nothing but flops.Look at the next gen consoles... The once unbeatable Sony has delivered almost nothing so far (save Warhawk and MAYBE Heavenly Sword), multiplats like Stranglehold, Medal of Honor Airborne and others are not reviewingterribly well, others like Assasins Creed are looking questionable, the 360 is having incrediblereliability issues and has several big flops toits name and finally, Nintendo has only afew of really cool games coming out this year. I hopeQ4 proves mewrong, because outside ofBioshock, I haven't seen a lot to getexcited about like years past.
All the games could flop for the rest of the year, but one game that I (along with about 3-4 million other people playingon the 25th) know won't disappoint is Halo 3. Everything else won't matter for about a month straight, and I'll STILL be playing Halo 3 most of the time after that.

Actually I don't know what they up to (I think BONES was the studio that made it right?). All I've been watching lately is some old stuff (You're Under Arrest, etc).

Accepting that the 360's reliability problems are not confined to Fall '07, and that Nintendo and Microsoft "have" released some amazing titles with more potentials on the way this Fall... do you not think that its Sony that has been a grand disappointment this fall.
For the the other platforms the outlook is extremely good, potentially stellar.
I was too young and new to console gaming to remember '98 as a big year in gaming. '01 was big though, and '07 will probably be the biggest gaming-year since then. Hopefully the many games coming this fall/winter will live up to our expectations.
Let's see, I plan on getting Blue Dragon (I enjoyed the demo, and apparentlyGameInformerenjoyed the game), Eternal Sonata, Halo 3, Assassin's Creed (which I think looks great), CoD4, Mass Effect, and Lost Odyssey. I want but probably can't afford Half Life2 -The Orange Box, Blacksite: Area 51, The Chronicles of Riddick, and World in Conflict. So no, I don't think it will be a grand disappointment
Metroid Prime 3 got 8.5 here. and is AAA on metacritic. I think that alone justifies that is an awesome game to be put on that list.
So right now Bioshock and Metroid Prime 3 are a great start. Blue Dragon got mixed reviews with AAA reviews from some good websites and mags like gameinformer, and some good scores from IGN,etc.
So on overall critical quality.
We got Metroid Prime 3 and Bioshock as 2 AAA hits, that also happened to sell very well. Andi f warhawk is a great game why isnt Metroid Prime 3 it scored the same here and is praised for amazing boss fights.
We got a A RPG for the 360(generally most jrpgs do get A ratings in the state because of the different tastes in culture)
Also Halo 3, Mass Effect, Eternal Sonota, Project Gothem Racing 4, and i guess another possible A game like Lost ODyssey that might sneak in AA.
Then there is Super Mario Galaxy(return of miyamoto is a director), Smash Bros. Brawl(It will be online count on it), and for RE fans there is umbrella chronicles. Which has many story details to flesh out, which might make this the first good spinoff. Then there is Battallion Wars 2, FIre Emblem, Dewys Adventure, and Zack and Wikki which can all get AA and even become cult favorites and get AAA.
Throw in Uncharted and Ratchet.
With Unreal 3, Call of Duty 4 and Assassins Creed id say this year is still looking great.
here is 07 from a ps3 point of view HS is gonna flop (hope not to hard maybe a 8 or 8.5) but weve got warhawk and uncharted and ratchet look really fun too, uncharted has huge potential in my eyes

The games won't live up to expectations because everyone is always like "AAAAAAAA GOTC TEH ODA SYSTEMS SUXORZZZ"
The games will be good, but personally 2001 was my favorite year.
