I think I'll be sticking with S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky.
Fallout 3 is reminding me too much of BioShock except there's no atmosphere that could be destroyed by the lack of difficulty (Speaking of difficulty, that VATS thing is making it even easier than BioShock.) and it's taking place above the surface.
I loved how they showed all of the great RPG aspects instead of the shooting.
Oh, wait.... Nevermind.

That is indeed worrying. I don't quite get the pause-non-shooting either. I'm guessing there has to be a limit to it somehow.

There's a certain AP in the corner you can use up.Visually stunning yes....but reading the dialogues and the dialogue options, followed by reading the same in Baldur's Gate makes Fallout 3 seem to be a severly dumbed down RPG.
'Oblivion with guns' is a phrase that couldn't be closer to the truth really.
ToScA-
At least the sword combat was pretty good in Oblivion (can't think of any other FPS sword game that played better)
In Fallout 3, the shooting looks to control horribly....
It looks great, but some of the guns shown seem to lacked the "pow!" feeling that most other shooters seem to have.bulletsword
You might want to explain your opinion a bit more considering there's a lot of dismemberment and gore in the trailers.

maybe he is talking about the recoil?

kind of. there can go ahead and be dismemberment and all, but it kind of feels weird when he fires the shotgun and he's able to hold it pretty straight like it was nothing. I'm also too used to the screen shaking more than that (or at least having the animation/movenet of the gun and hands being a little more erratic), so that's what I pretty much meant.

I was paying too much attention to the combat rather than animation to notice but wow, that's awkward after taking a second look.
I was very dissapointed, hopefully this was just a bad demo and there's more to be seenfakkhead
it is said they have finished the game and they are just polishing it up. If this was a bad demo, then i guess the game must suck.
I'm not saying it does suck, because i haven't even played it.
but yes i will wait for reviews and if the reviews say "Oblivion with guns" like some previews have been saying, then i'll just give it a rent.

I noticed the lack of recoil aswell.
Didn't u guys think it was awkward when he snipped that guy in the head and he exploded. Even though they had the Bloody Merry perk, I would think that the dismemberment would focus on the upper body and not the legs.
As predicted, Bethesda completely violated the Fallout franchise in horrible, horrible ways. Now we are left with Oblivion in a post Apocalyptic future.
Thanks for nothing, Bethesda.:|
I just seen the gameplay vid.
Umm.....what the f*** was that crap? I bet that anyone who thinks this video was amazing has never experienced FO 1 or 2. Not only did they make it into what looks like a mediocre shooter with little RPG elements, but it also seems that they completely obliterated the great Fallout atmosphere and made something awful.
Somebody, please bring back Van Buren!
