I bought Fallout 3 about a month a ago and i think its a very overrated game you are better off getting something like Saints row 2 that is fun to play I am going to get rid of my Fallout 3 as soon as I can.

Every game is overrated depending upon who you ask. Also, did you finish the game? Did you really give it a chance? One game that I feel is truly overrated is Half Life 2. I did finish that one and found that it was just not that fun. It is a pretty game but I just couldn't get drawn into the story. Finishing the game felt like work instead of play.

Fallout 3 on PC is even worse, why do I need to be online (Games for Windows) to play an offline game. Such BS.

What the hell are you talking about? You don't need to be signed in to your Live Account to play Fallout 3. I've played many, many times without being signed into Live.

I wasn't so lucky, I experienced multiple crashes... but that was due to a problem on Nvidia's part with a driver update which I fixed anyways. Besides, the patches out right now fix many of the problems the game had -- not to mention how easy it can be modded as well. The GECK tool is a breeze to use, imo.

I think it deserves its score, but I think alot of people praise for things that it epically fails at. It's voice acting is horrible imo. Everyone except for Qui-Gon is either simply acceptable or horribly over the top in a way that makes what should be a dark and serious game into a goofy comedic title. I think it's sidequests are good overall, but I think it's a shame that any random sidequest manages to tell a better story than the actual main quest of the game. However, I don't think it's overrated. Most games have horrible horrible horrible voice acting. The fact that some of the voices are at least acceptable puts Fallout 3 into the upper echelon of games. Also, most games have horrible horrible horrible stories. The fact that there are some good multiple good stories in the game makes it light years past 95% of games that come out in any given year.

[QUOTE="TheBigBadGRIM"]The ONLY good thing about Fallout 3 was taking someone apart in slow-motion, but even that aiming system was annoying. They screw up the free-aim gunplay so that you MUST depend on the VATS system to do great. Also, the world map is so dull it make the environments in Gears of War look alive. I'd give it a 6 out of 10 and thats only because I like shooting people's heads off with the hunting rifle (which is weak like a darn BB gun). EDIT: Oh, and if you're wondering just HOW the free aiming system was screwed up.....this is the only game i've ever played where I can shoot an orc in the HEAD 3-4 times at point-blank range and THEY STILL STAND.TheBigBadGRIM

It's not a shooter, it's an RPG. Like you their body parts have HP. :|

It's an RPG but it's still a shooter. I don't know if you're aware but it's actually possible to be both. If most of my weapons are guns and most of my kills are by shooting enemies...i'm pretty sure it's a shooter. And even if it is an RPG no enemy should EVER, EVER survive 4 shotgun blasts to the face from 2 feet away while madly swinging their weapon at me...it's ridiculous.

I played the game for over 100+ I'm aware of how it can be played. Again it has HP allocated to it like your own body parts, if you want regular shooting than go play a shooter, not an RPG that has shooter-esque elements.

Strange. I found it incredibly interesting, I actually felt myself immersed into the setting, especially after reading some of the logs after the bombs fell... telling how some were trying to survive. That and, using one of the Satcom relays to release a bunch of nuclear bombs was frickin' awesome to watch. 8)

I haven't used the GECK tool. I was so infuriated by the ending I lost the desire to keep playing once I was finished, and I had the tool in where you can keep playing after the ending.

is the TC like 12 years old? theres no comparison between a GTA style game and a WRPG, seeing as they didnt know what elaborate meant, i would suggest they spend more time reading and less time trying to play games that arent meant for them? Assuming the TC is actually under the age of 15 which seems most likely.

I really liked Fallout 3. I don't normally play WRPGs so it was a very refreshing, addictive experience for me. It was easily one of my favourite games of last year.

"best writing award"?? That's ridiculous.... I loved the game though, one of the best purchases I made last year. I still need to go thru it again as a "evil" person And this is a Fallout3 thread right, where is Heterix?

What a joke, its a great game. People saying the enemies survive 4 shot guns blasts to the face, its because there not human, and have armour. The environments are bland due to the fact EVERYTHING WAS BLOWN UP, i'm not sure you got the whole wasteland thing. The shooting is fine it has to be like that, its a RPG did you expect halo gameplay or something?
