Heres my opinion on the game:

Graphics: Fallout 3

Story: Fallout 3

Funner quests: Fallout 3

More quests: Oblivion

Better atmosphere: Fallout 3

Factions: Oblivion

Combat: Fallout 3

Locations: Oblivion(Fallout 3 only has 2 cities while oblivion has around 10)

Longevity: Oblivion

Overall: I personaly like Fallout 3 better, but oblivion still holds a special place in my heart.

Which game do u like better and why?

Oblivion - It's just a steaming pile of garbage.

Fallout 3 - It's a great game.

I'm glad I could clear that up for you. :P

While Oblivion has to be one of the most bland adventure games I played, boring to the max, and only enjoyable with a thousand of mods. Fallout 3 on the other hand is actually a pretty good RPG.

Vanilla Oblivion is rather bland. But when you consider how many mods there are, it easily becomes a very entertaining game.

I found oblivion to be good. I must have sunk 100 hours into that thing.

But fallout 3 is way better. However, i dont know if i want to replay the thing again. It just takes so long to biuld a great charecter.

Oblivion has a lot more content, so it takes you longer to realize how shallow it is. Fallout 3 was amazing at first, but right when you hit the ending you realize that it is Oblivion all over again, but this time after a mere 20 or so hours, versus Oblivion's 50 hour initial run. Fallout 3 gets a lot of things right that Oblivion didn't, but then it has a lot of weaknesses that weren't in Oblivion as well. Both games have, unfortunately, unaccountably pathetic main quest lines. Oblivion at least has its guilds, and the Dark Brotherhood was quite a bit of fun. Lack of guilds and inability to play after the main quest really hurt Fallout. What really is relevant is the fact that Oblivion did it all first. Fallout 3 should have been a lot better. I think Bethesda relies too much on it's constructions sets to appease the less casual gamers who want more than the shallowness the inevitably smothers those gamers that need more than 30 or so hours from these open-world games. The problem is that the more one tries to make a living, breathing, open world, the less believable it is, and the less forgivable are its flaws... strangely enough. Really though, Bethesda needs to go back to Morrowind for its inspiration for the next game. The problem is they are catering to such a wide audience and multiple consoles now... things get watered down.

i found both games REALLY clunky, but oblivion was like having a catch with a 40 pound weight, it's so slow and painful...why'd they make it so BIG?

i really like fallout though, but betheseda (wrong spelling?) really needs to smooth out their games, especially on ps3...both oblivion and fallout looked and felt rushed

Oblivion has a load of coneten but none of it is great its all average to the max.

Fallout 3 is good but ever sence I completed the main quest I have not touched the game sence. Honestly the ending just ruined the game for me.

You're kidding right? Oblivion had NO atmosphere. None, you didn't feel like factions were at war (like they were supposed to be) you felt completely and utterly alone and the world was completely empty. Funner quests? "GO HERE KILL GUY BRING ME ITEM FOR 50 GOLD" how fun, enjoy while I actually find different ways to solve quests instead of running in and killing everyone. The story in Oblivion is one of the worst I've ever seen in an RPG. Fallout 3's was nothing special but at least it was a step up from the garbage in Oblivion.

Oblivion definately. It is truly living a life in another world. The world has it's own religion, laws, different people with careers, people who decide to rob others (which Fallout 3 had as well), factions, and rulers. I just became so immersed in Oblivion. Then I played Fallout 3 and just couldn't get that same vibe. Oblivion just made more of an impact on me.

Fallout 3 was a vastly superior game to Oblivion in my humble opinion. Oblivion was just broken in so many ways. The quests and environments were repetitive, the combat sucked, any sense of achievement was ruined since enemies levelled with you (being able to beat the game at level 1 for the lose), there were only about 4 voice actors, the skill system was broken ect. ect. Not matter what you say about Oblivion, as an RPG it sucked the big one.

At least Fallout has an excuse, Oblivion should be jam packed with people, especially since it takes place in the most powerful province in the world.

I like fallout 3 more. It has a very interesting theme and style to it that directly impacts its atmosphere. But I hated the main story. Oblivion was just boring and a run of the mill medieval RPG, but definitely a much more interesting story.

There's a good reason for the "emptyness". There was a NUCLEAR APOCACLYPSE (as in Nuclear bombs going off across the world at the same time). So of cource there should be rubble and destroyed buildings across the game. Were you honestly expecting to see rolling green hills with cute fluffy rabbits and some of the nicest people in the world with bustling cities?

It would have been fine if they had made the dungeons more interesting. In Morrowind, the dungeons were just as copy-pasted as in Oblivion, but almost every one had a notable bit of loot or a story behind it. In Oblivion, you were lucky to even find anything of value except maybe coins.

I loved how everything was there right from the start. You didn't have to start a quest to go and get Chrysamere at the beginning but you did have to deal with that high level sorceress and her assistant. In Oblivion she would have been level one and the blade would have been nerfed if you tried that.

Its obvious Bethesda made Oblivion for a wide audience, but didn't really know how, or what they could get away with, like they were trying to get the massiveness of Daggerfall combined with the concise detail of Morrowind. Even though I enjoy Oblivion, I have to say that they failed, because originally they got mostly the weaknesses of both and strengths of neither.

However, I could definitely tell when playing Shivering Isles that Bethesda had learned a little from their mistakes, and Fallout 3 is a big step forward from that. The items aren't levelled anymore, there's actual character roleplaying, the world reacts better to your actions, and so on. Its unequivocally the better game, and gives me a lot of hope for the next Elder Scrolls title.

They are both great, but when it comes down to it. I would have to say Fallout 3.

Heres my opinion on the game:

Graphics: Fallout 3

Story: Fallout 3

Funner quests: Fallout 3

More quests: Oblivion

Better atmosphere: Fallout 3

Factions: Oblivion

Combat: Fallout 3

Locations: Oblivion(Fallout 3 only has 2 cities while oblivion has around 10)

Longevity: Oblivion

Overall: I personaly like Fallout 3 better, but oblivion still holds a special place in my heart.

Which game do u like better and why?

Well I like the Elder Scrolls universe better than the Fallout universe, so that somewhat sways my opinion, but I have to side with Fallout anyway. It was just a great game, and some of the choices actually were meaningful. However, if Bethesda takes the environment and "way of doing things" of Morrowind (more towns, more open-ended, more variety, more EVERYTHING) and slapped on Oblivion's graphics and combat, then Fallout 3 would easily be dethroned. Here's to hoping Bethesda will re-add depth to the next Elder Scrolls, and not simplify it yet again. But even still, Oblivion is one of my top games, right with Fallout 3 and Mass Effect.
