What about Kart-Racing?
yesIronically I am just about to reinstall Oblivion and mod it out the ass. Its been at least two years since I last played it and I have been reading about the tons of changes and additions done by OOO and the other parts of the community. I have no desire to play Fallout 3 at all. Despite me loving post-apoc games I just cannot inspire myself to spend $50 on another Bethesda game. That and Oblivion is a good original fantasy world... Fallout 3 is just a ripoff of Black Isle's work.foxhound_foxEverytime I try to use Better Cities, my game crashes upon leaving the Imperial City :( What did I do wrong?
I feel that Oblivion is one of the greatest games in existence and revolutionised modern gaming with what can be done with role playing and and dlc. I was my first next gen game.
With that said.....Fallout 3 surpassed it in every way. Sure it's an ugly game but thats due to the endearment being a bleak desolate waste land....nuclear waste land that is. In general it rendered well. It has everything that oblivion had but classes and really Fallout 3 dosn't need them.

So you haven't played Morrowind?
Play Morrowind.
OOOH , another case of ff6-itis. No, I mean the fact that theirs always someone the hate/ dislikes/states it's inferior/ or otherwise a wildly popular game due to the fact the the previous game the developers made is better, even if the popular one is a good game. It not say that you or anyone hates oblivion, just that that I seen it too many time.So you haven't played Morrowind?
Play Morrowind.

Every time someone say they like Oblivion someone comes in and says the Morrowind is better and to go play it.
Every time someone say they like FF7 someone comes in and says the FF6 better and to go play it.. (Normally me)
Every time someone say they like Mass Effect someone comes in and says the KOTOR is better and to go play it.
I'm saying everyone is delusional, just that it funny that it keeps happening.

All right, I understand. I was just saying that you should try it before saying that Oblivion revolutionized anything.

After Fallout 3. Its environments just weirds me out.Oblivion = Dissapointing and by far the worst in the elderscrolls series.
Fallout3 = Better then expected, while not as good as fallout1 and 2, Bethesda did the Fallout name good imo. They definatly didnt ruin the series as i thought they might. Good to see them step up after the dumb downed, overrated and dissapointing Mess that was Oblivion. Fallout3 still could have been better, but on the other hand it could have been ALOT worse.
Oblivion = 6.5 /10
Fallout3 = 8.5/10
The amount of lore in the game was never pushed as much as this game and it was out of story. Not something to push alone the story, or add mystery to the world, characters, or events but just pure lore just to build the world. The religions in this game were deep and a concept like it is still not found in other games as well. The character interaction was complex. Also, it was the first game with massive dlc . No other game has yet applied the same quality of dlc like oblivion out side of Grand theft Auto 4. Sorry, but it did revolutionize rpgs in a way. Still just a bunch of fetch quest though.dreman999
The Elder Scrolls II: Daggerfall had a lot, lot more the Oblivion, and TES III: Morrowind too. TES IV: Oblivion was the worst, most dumbed down, stripped of content and most superficial of all the Elders Scrolls games.
Go play Morrowing, Daggerfall, Planescape: Torment, Fallout 1 and 2, Arcanum, Vampire the Masquarade: Bloodlines, Deus Ex, then come back and comment on Oblivion.
After that, you won't be prasing amount of lore, of sidequest or the amount of characterisation, but the lack of all that.
Again, mark my words, TES IV: Oblivion was the worst, most dumbed down, stripped of content and most superficial of all the Elders Scrolls games.
Oblivions biggest issue for me was the whole thing of monsters leveling up with you. I'd prefer it if you started out and had to pick you missions/fights carefully - coming back to harder ones when you got stronger.
My first character started to get weaker as I leveled up!!! I simply wasn't getting enough HP bonus on level up. After about 10 hours I had to read a FAQ on the levelling and character creation and start the game from fresh again.
Its a shame, because the rest of the game is awesome.
Because of the above issue, I think i am going to have to go with fallout 3.
Overall, both games are very good.

Correction, Morrowind. Daggerfall has not aged gracefully.
Fallout3 was oblivion with guns.Same graphics engine with minor improvements,A horrible story and besides art style sucked to me
On the other hadn we already had played fallout in oblivion with mods.
Vanilla Oblivion is rather bland. But when you consider how many mods there are, it easily becomes a very entertaining game.Deadly_FatalisWhich mods did you have in mind? The only mods I use are to improve the graphics and to change the user interface. None of those effects change the gameplay, they only give extra eye candy and re-adjust the UI.

Morrowind>Oblivion>Fallout 3 IMO.
Oblivion on the PC was to die for, with all the mods, and life of luxury (numerous castle mods, weapons, armor, as much money as you can imagine, castle, ridiculous amounts of spells).
[QUOTE="Gh0st_Of_0nyx"]:shock: what you mean? Fallout felt like a mod of Oblivion painted in green dirty paint. I got soooooo bored with it.Oblivion = Great game

my heart is still with oblivion. i like the back round and setting more. there is also an epic feeling of the game cos it makes you imagine all those battle you hear of. Fallout 3 is probebly the better game its just that oblivion dungeon raiding hold the place in my heart expecially when it broke
Oblivion definately. It is truly living a life in another world. The world has it's own religion, laws, different people with careers, people who decide to rob others (which Fallout 3 had as well), factions, and rulers. I just became so immersed in Oblivion. Then I played Fallout 3 and just couldn't get that same vibe. Oblivion just made more of an impact on me.Oblivionfan10ya me agree with this. then people say well i never got imerssed.... Guild not at war.........random raking floor.........guard just standing guarding doors and automatically know where you are ...... i don't care about that you need a bit of imagination. ie i became champion of the arena. no one started crowding around me but i always looked for adoring fan to cheer for me and to KILLLLLLLL. You need imagination in RPGs
